Being a leader means showing the world and followers your good leadership qualities when confronted with a problem. How do you show the world what you are capable of if people are not willing to give you the opportunity?. For instance, people, organizations, companies emphasize on paper qualifications and years of experience as a criteria for an individual to gain meaningful appointment or secure meaningful job which I believe is not fair and it also robs many people without the paper qualifications and years of experience the opportunity to show or give to the world what they are capable of. I believe they are so many people all over the world who have the idea and the know how to bring about effective change which the world so desperately needs, only if they are given the opportunity to show what they are capable of.
Nigerian youth
From a political point of view, many countries of the world fail to realize that the reason why their country is not developing might be because they have failed to give youth the opportunity. I strongly believe that the so called "leaders of tomorrow" (i.e the young/youth) should be engaged in active politics today because a better tomorrow depends on the decisions we take today. How can youths be leaders of tomorrow if they are not involved in politics today?. A lot of people think politics is for the elderly, older people with years of experience under their belt but I don't think they got it right because these people seem to be failing and not yielding the result we want or expect of them. In my country, politicians tend to rotate power amongst themselves e.g, a politician who is a serving governor of a state will make his way into becoming a senator after 4 years or 8 years if he serves two tenure of successfully failing his/her people and that same politician might end up being appointed a minister after another 4years and so the cycle continues. These leaders who rotate power amongst themselves are the reason why I believe my country is corrupt and not developing as it should despite the enormous natural resources God has blessed us with, because these leaders who rotate power amongst themselves do not give room for new and fresh ideas which they obviously lack. The fresh and new ideas which will bring about positive change and development can only be brought in by the young/youth who are stocked with ideas just waiting for opportunities and the chance to show the world what they are capable of. How do you expect to get a different result when you keep using thesame methodology or ideology?. I am not saying the current leaders should quite politics for the young/youth but for them to support and guide the young/youth to engage in politics and contest for prominent leadership positions if they truly have their country at heart and want the best for their country by breaking the age barrier and encourage the young/youth.
Everybody knows that to win a war " you need the wisdom of the old/elderly and young peoples energy". So I call on leaders of tomorrow to start by becoming leaders today by going into politics. #young_people _in_active_politics
