It’s river of repetitions
Where you can
Easily get lost in trivia
The fog of insignificance
And want to retreat
To a sunny beach
And get away from the rain.
...
But truth doesn’t readily go away:
It comes back to bite
In those inevitable moments
Lying in darkness
Totally awake,
A parade of images
Marching through your brain,
Mocking voices
Drowned out
By the blind fall of rain.
...
But up among the stars
Lies a sea of tears
(I know it well—
It’s mine)
And after all those years
I discovered rain
Somehow
Wipes the slate clean
But I still dream
Of that damn beach
And life idyllic
And struggle every day...
But I'm not giving up,
Sometimes
I even cherish
Long walks in the rain.
