—Shakespeare
Blurry clouds,
Gulls scattered
Behind cumulus towers.
It’s a day
When my heart
Goes to sea
And waits to see
If you’ll go with me.
A day of sights
And deafening sounds
As yellow cranes
Pull a building down.
A day of natural
And man-made destruction
A day I can’t focus
For your distraction.
I finally surrender—
I can’t write.
It often happens
You blind my sight
And today,
My senses are in betrayal—
Leaving me with wind
And torn-up pavement.
