Money is a thing that can solve any problems and some other say it buys them happiness. In this modern world every thing is very expensive whether it is in essential goods or taking an education. Here in the Philippines many of the students here are is no longer able to get bachelor’s degree because of lack of money. And I am thankful for this years because I can still take this level of education.
I am now in my 3rd year of college taking Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. My tuition fee is not just too high compare to other courses but it still pressed us in financial shortage. If I am not mistaken its around $390 or Php 22,000.
Every day my mom gave me a pocket money that around $5.30 or 300 pesos in Philippines peso. As a good son I left my $1 or 50 pesos pocket money in the house, this serve as my savings for my tuition because if I save 50 peso per school days I can earn 1000 peso in every month. And this amount of money can be a great help to pay for my tuition for the next semester.
Honestly this money is not enough for me because the transport service fare is very expensive. I spent almost everything on the fare and I have nothing left to buy for my food.
My daily routine
In the morning I wake up and take a bath early so I can leave home early because I am chasing for the cheapest fare of bus in our town. I take ordinary bus its fare is about $1 or 50 pesos, its service is nice and very comfortable but it runs slowly and takes me 1 hour and 30 minutes of my travel time. (I do this twice a day, once I go to school and then I go home).
After I reach town I take a jeep or tricycle to be able too reach my school. But I usually take jeep because it is much cheaper in fare.
My schedule this semester is very busy and I have not almost have the time for health break, but for me it is okay because I am used to not eating snacks and makes me save my money for other expenses.
I have my lunch outside the school because it is much cheaper in price because the minimum of lunch in school is around 100 peso or it is $2 but if I order food on” turo-turo” or food stalls outside it just cost me $1 dollar. Or if I’m in a tight budget I just do street foods just to past my hunger and I just eat my proper meal if I got home.
Budgeting and saving money helps me a lot especially when I am experiencing financial problem.
All in all having a sum of money is very comforting but we should save and budget because the arrival of money is not unlimited. For me budgeting the most important thing that need to learn of every person or adult in this world. Without applying budgeting in our life we will be poor in no time.
