I have had the privilege of attending a couple of networking seminars years back in the quest for financial freedom and the chase for multiple source of income. Looking back at those days compared to what is offered on blockchain in relation to Hive is a complete different ball game.
I recall being unable to afford one of those seminars and my ex boss had to pay for my ticket, these seminars are often packed with people after the same goal (that extra source of income).
Personally for me none ever yielded earnings instead it was the contrary, losing money. Perhaps because am not a marketer, am not your best recruiter in signing up people, I never shied away but it was the least of the favorite thing I was keen on doing but for the pursuit of money I had to recruit for recruits that never yielded desired goal.
For the organizers, who I refer to as financial gurus enjoyed a time when they were able to sell their outspoken and marketing skills, I recall Tony would display his account balance to the audience back then and we all got pumped for making money. The reality is very minority could boast of making money.
Haven travel that path before I am now able to spot these financial gurus when they approach, I have a friend whom I actually onboarded to Hive over a year ago but wouldn't see the potential here but run after these financial gurus, it is now the second time he told me he lost money from some Bitcoin mining scheme.
I onboarded a friend last week who is yet to write an introductory post, after creating her account she asked me to set up her account and my response was...
you shouldn't be giving me access to your keys, consider it as password to your money and don't share it with anyone, I'd rather guide you..
I feel we are in an era where everyone has to take it upon themselves to be financial gurus, we've got to learn, make make mistakes, ask questions and fortunately this is what Hive offers, I can basically put up a post here on Hive and ask for help in doing certain things am struggling with, I can relate this to DeFi which I had no clue on how to go about it but friends on here helped me out with explanations and links, the same applies to Splinterlands when I started out and don't know how to play the game but got help here on Hive.
We are in a different era, an era where you get things done yourself, you research, you read, you ask for help in a community of like minded people. The days of paying for money making seminars to some financial gurus are over.
