Not only do I always enjoy the drive through Roxburgh for it's winding roads and scenic views, this mural titled "The Arrival" often draws my attention as I drove through exiting the town towards Dunedin or Alexandra depending on which direction I was traveling.
I stopped for photos of this beautiful mural in October 2025 and also photographed the information about the mural which I encourage you to read if you're keen on a bit of history about people and place in New Zealand, Roxburgh and Teviot of Otago.
The mural is located on 94 Scotland street, Roxburgh and was painted in 2020 by Flox & Trustme.
The fruit doves representing the seasonal workers of fruit harvesting in the region, while the cherry and apricot represents what Teviot is known for.
The lines that met in the middle represents Scottish flag and their presence, along with other images in the murals representing Maori, Chinese, Pacific, people and their arrival in this beautiful region of New Zealand 🇳🇿.
This mural is my entry to this week's contest.
