It is sometimes good to reflect on where we came from to better appreciate where we are now and where we are headed. Listening to Dan's talk on What Makes Hive Different kicked off my week in a positive way because I could relate.
Hive was not planned not planned
Struck a chord with me in the 13.50 minutes, even though the entire talk is worth listening to.
It wasn't a tough choice for me to migrate from STEEM after the Fork because I have grown to understand what decentralization means to me, it didn't take long for me to opt for decentralization over centralization. So when the hostile takeover happened, having to birth Hive within a very short space of time was always amazing to me.
An unplanned birth of Hive by the community without a single entity. That was a winning factor, even better was to correcting the premine ninja stake to what we now have as DHF. You get to understand Delegated Proof Of Stake (DPOS) a lot better listening to Dan.
The point is having no central authority on Hive is one of the most appealing sides of Hive for me. We saw the arrest for writing code from the Tornado Cash incident. That is eliminated on Hive with no one to go after for writing the Hive code, it is the community code, and this is where decentralization needs to be prioritized.
Often we talk about Hive flying under the radar, on the positive, it is better for Hive to remain under the radar in the meantime while it gets stronger, and learns from loopholes of the blockchains being hyped in strengthening its guard.
As Dan mentioned no celeb or anyone is being paid to shill Hive, it is a blockchain that keeps evolving by the day with organic growths. The time to attract the masses will come I trust, we only need one or two killer DApps to have the masses flocking in, we saw a glimpse of this last year from the success of Splinterlands.
With these fundamentals in place, we are in a better state compared to the older chain. I see Hive housing DApps in numbers. The consistent update to the blockchain is enough to be bullish about the future of Hive. Splinterlands continues to form partnerships making Hive a continuously expanding ecosystem. Leofinance working on LeoThreads for Twitter on Hive, the moment that DApp is fully built and goes mobile it might be the killer DApp we have been longing for.
The birth of Hive was unplanned but evolving like one with years to birth it.
