I grew up in the southern part of the United States and I love spicy food. I discoverd a recipe several years ago from the Cajun chef Emeril Lagasse for his Essence Spice that he uses in quite a few of his dishes. I modified it slightly and I use it a lot in my cooking.
The original recipe includes salt which I leave out. I also substitute smoked paprika for the regular paprika, and ground oregano for leaf oregano.
Sometimes I use ground thyme instead of leaf thyme depending on what I have available.

If you want to add a kick to a savory dish, then this mixture of spices will do the trick. I like to leave out the salt because I can make my dishes spicy with low or no sodium content.
2 1/2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon cayenne powder
1 tablespoon ground oregano
1 tablespoon ground thyme
His recipe makes about 2/3 of a cup of spice. I also make it for some of my friends who enjoy spicy food.
Enjoy your day.
