Knitting While Under the Weather Until I can Try Batik Designs using Glue
I have been taking it easy for the past few days because I don't feel very well. I have been mulling around the house eating chicken soup, drinking plenty of fluids and getting bed rest. It is hard for me to stay in the bed because I like to stay active but I really don't have the strength right now. I decided to pick up an unfinished dish cloth that I was knitting because I can do that while I rest in bed.
I really wanted to start my latest venture which is trying out hand made batik with washable glue, or hot glue. I bought the washable glue and I already owned some dye. Since I have been on self imposed bed rest, however, I discovered from watching numberous Youtube videos that I should either be using cold water dye or fabric paint.
I am glad that I have been taking more time to do research rather than jumping in without all of the information. One lady that I watched actually compared various glue methods and showed or explained what happens when you use one versus a different type.
Her video saved me a lot of time and materials. I have already washed and dried my fabric and I have been looking at various patterns that I want to paint. I am also going to dye some tshirts when I have everything out and ready so that I don't waste the dye solution.
When I feel better, I hope to have a beautiful hand painted scarf and some tie dyed tshirts. In the meantime, I need some hot tea.
Have a wonderul day!
