As I sit here in my studio at my PC selecting and processing some of my photos, I've been thinking about some of the things that have been happening around me these past few days. It's mostly about the people around me鈥攆amily, friends, or just acquaintances. Many of them, almost all of them I'd say, have been approaching me frequently lately, telling me about their problems and then asking for my opinion or even some advice. And it turns out that some of these problems have to do with money, others with property, family conflicts, life goals, or even a combination of all of these. There have even been those who have approached me to share their political opinions and positions regarding current events in our country, which seems to grow increasingly unpredictable... And the strangest thing of all is that I haven't the slightest idea why these people, many of whom I certainly love dearly, come to me and talk about all this as if I could offer them any remotely coherent answers... And I don't say this with any arrogance or sullenness. On the contrary, I say this with the sincerity of someone who knows he's incapable of mediating in all of this... Because, as I told a dear friend and former high school classmate this morning, with whom I've shared a continuous friendship for over 45 years: I've become a strange fellow who earns a few coins daily selling things others make, locks himself in a studio for hours repeating mantras while literally "trying not to think," spends hours in front of a PC processing photos and listening to audiobooks, or simply goes out into the streets and takes pictures that I then use to lock myself in my studio, talks to dogs, cats, and random things... So... how can I possibly have an opinion about so many things that "fell out of my baggage" while I traveled to where I am today?...
