The old sheds at my house, where we've stored tons of stuff for three generations, are perhaps the last place I can put those old-fashioned light bulbs—the ones that use incandescent tungsten filaments—without my wife saying something like, "Don't use that thing here! It generates too much heat and uses too much electricity!" 😂 And she's pretty right. Besides, these bulbs burn out frequently and are no longer usable. But I still feel a certain nostalgia for the glow they provide, so I secretly buy them and put them in these corners where only I occasionally walk by. They're also very cheap; some cost less than a dollar, so for me it's like indulging in a little treat that doesn't affect my budget too much.

Los viejos cobertizos de mi casa, en donde guardamos montones de cosas desde hace tres generaciones, son quizás el último lugar en donde puedo colocar esas bombillas de tecnología vieja, las cuales usan filamentos incandescentes de tungsteno para generar luz, sin que mi esposa termine diciendo algo como: "No uses aquí esa cosa que genera demasiado calor y consume demasiada electricidad" 😂. Y en eso tiene bastante razón. Además, estas bombillas se queman con frecuencia y ya no sirven más. Pero yo sigo sintiendo cierta nostalgia por el brillo que proveen esas bombillas, y por eso las compro a escondidas y las coloco en estos rincones en donde solo yo camino de vez en cuando... Además, son muy baratas; algunas cuestan menos de un dólar, así que para mí es como permitirme una especie de "capricho" que no afecta demasiado mi economía...

Besides illuminating so many old things 😂 and taking photos of these light bulbs, they also inspire my creativity, and I like to make additional transformations, achieving quite interesting abstractions on the images I create with them. Here are some I made yesterday...

Y además de servirme para alumbrar tantas cosas viejas 😂y hacer fotos de estas bombillas también inspiran mi creatividad y me gusta hacer transformaciones adicionales, logrando abstracciones bastante interesantes sobre las imágenes que con ellas logro. With these photos, I decided to maintain the color scheme and begin altering the forms using, in a practically anarchic way, distortion tools, ranging from polar coordinates to motion blur, including the use of liquify brushes, oil-like texturizing, and various wave and blur filters. As I've mentioned before when I publish this type of creative work, I don't have an exact recipe for this; rather, I work on each photo according to its own characteristics and the meaning it evokes in me...

And now... the images transformed into the ever-necessary black and white format for your enjoyment!

Con estas fotos, decidí mantener el cromatismo y comenzar a alterar las formas usando, de manera prácticamente anárquica, las herramientas de distorsión, que van desde coordenadas polares hasta desenfoques por movimiento, pasando por el uso de brochas de licuado, texturización tipo óleo y filtros de onda y difuminados diversos. Como he dicho antes cuando publico este tipo de trabajos creativos, no tengo una receta exacta para esto, sino que trabajo cada foto según sus propias características y el significado que genera en mí...

Y ahora... ¡Las imágenes transformadas en el siempre necesario esquema en blanco y negro para el disfrute de ustedes!...

Over the next few days, I'll need to spend more time under the glow of those incandescent bulbs in our old sheds. I'm trying to clean up some areas, make some space for new old things, I suppose 😂, so I'll have the chance to take more photos and, with them, more transformations to share with you here...

En estos siguientes días, necesitaré pasar más tiempo alumbrado por esas bombillas incandescentes de nuestros viejos cobertizos. Estoy procurando limpiar algún área, hacer algún espacio para poner nuevas cosas viejas, supongo 😂, así que tendré oportunidad de hacer más fotos y, con ellas, más transformaciones también, para compartir con ustedes aquí...
