These streets, without making any effort, seem to speak of the recent and not-so-recent past of the town, and looking at them makes me not know if I'm looking at the present or the past. That's why the word "ECHOES" came to my mind while looking at these images and processing them with the parsimony typical of a Monday afternoon after lunch... Obviously, it's not that the whole town has tried to bring past memories and leave them stuck in the streets as witnesses of the hard times that don't seem to want to go away. No; the town also has livelier, more hopeful streets, one could say... But I, truth be told, today I almost instinctively leaned towards looking at, cutting and discoloring the streets that seem paralyzed and without knowing where to go. And I think I do this sometimes, because I simply have days when I need to look like this and understand the visual fables that say this town has something of that magical realism of the novels by Latin American authors that I loved reading so much during my adolescence...

Estas calles, sin hacer esfuerzo alguno, parecen hablar del pasado reciente y no tan reciente del pueblo, y mirarlas hace que yo no sepa si estoy mirando el presente o el pasado. Por eso, la palabra "ECOS" se me vino a la cabeza mientras miraba estas imágenes y las procesaba con la parsimonia propia de un mediodía de lunes después de almorzar... Obviamente, no es que todo el pueblo se haya empeñado en traer las memorias pasadas y dejarlas pegadas en las calles como testigos de los tiempos duros que no parecen querer irse del todo. No; también el pueblo tiene calles más vivas, más esperanzadoras, podría decirse... Pero yo, la verdad sea dicha, hoy me incliné casi instintivamente por mirar, recortar y decolorar las calles que más parecen paralizadas y sin saber a dónde ir. Y creo que hago esto así por momentos, porque simplemente tengo días en los que necesito mirar así y entender las fábulas visuales que dicen que este pueblo tiene algo de ese realismo mágico de las novelas de autores latinoamericanos que tanto amé leer durante mi adolescencia...

They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7}
