The heavy fortification in the Trutnov region from 1938 was designed to protect the Czechoslovak Republic from the invasion of Hitler's troops in the area above the Babí village between the towns of Trutnov and Žacléř.
The fortress was designed as 11 log cabins connected by underground corridors and supplemented by an independent artillery observatory. Let's take a look at the T-St-S 73 Polom, the largest building in the unfinished complex.
The building houses a museum exposition and accessible underground at a depth of about forty meters.
After completion of the fort should be armed with a total of ten 100 mm howitzers vz. 38 with a range of 12 km and fire rate up to 20 rounds / min, eight 47 mm anti-tank guns vz. 36 with a range of 6 km and a shooting speed of 35 rounds / min; and a number of heavy and light machine guns to defend the nearest surroundings of the fortress's own surface.
The video is an introduction to the series on the visit of this object in 2010, which I will publish on Hive and Travelfeed.
V objektu najdeme muzeální expozici a přístupné podzemí v hloubce kolem čtyřiceti metrů.
