I have experienced animals come to us for comfort, such as a cat or dog lying beside its owner, and on other occasions, defend the man. I have seen animals like dogs lead a blind man. All these points point to the relationship animals have with men. Of course, the chickens do run to us when we make a cooing sound for their feed; they are able to understand the gesture (language) that man utters.

If, peradventure, an intruder comes into the compound and a dog begins to bark, two things are likely. The dog is sending off the intruder with its constant bark or alerting the owner that there is an intruder. This is a form of communication.
Animal owners have also scolded their animals or pets when they must have done something wrong. Most times, the animal withdraws and becomes sober for a while. Gradually, they return to us, just like children who have been scolded. This reflects the fact that animals also have emotions that need to be understood and appreciated.

Having the ability to talk and understand animals would definitely make life much easier for humanity. I believe animals relay messages to us that we humans are unable to fully comprehend. Animals are loving and, like the dog, have been termed loyal friends of man.

Some animals could be sick, and because we are unable to understand them, we rely only on their symptoms, which are usually late presentations.

We rear goats in my family's house, and there is this buck that has no other buck to play with. It makes an attempt to hit me with its horns and sometimes allows me to pet it on the forehead. It would be amazing to know what runs through its thoughts and perhaps share with me some secrets I am not aware of.

Thank you for reading. I would love to have your comments and contributions.
