Here's the ruleset

I love a high mana cap.
With the earthquake ruleset I like to play with dragons. I frequently use Brighton Bloom for the earthquake ruleset if there's a lower mana cap or I'll use Delwyn in a higher mana cap because there's lots of flyers in the dragon splinter.

Lineup:

Summoner: Bortus

Bortus is my go to summoner for a lot of situations. I don't know why but in the earthquake ruleset I think that the single most common summoner I face is Obsidian. Bortus is perfect for that. Kelya is also fantastic in the earthquake ruleset. Kelya is probably the second most common summoner I face in the earthquake ruleset and Kelya makes more sense because of the +1 armor buying everyone on the team an extra turn with earthquake damage.

Tank: Torhilo the Frozen

The void ability is so great to have on a tank. Torhilo also comes with a decent amount of armor which is good for the earthquake ruleset.

1st position: Djinn Oshannus

More void in case my opponent can get through Torhilo.

2nd position: Nerissa Tridawn

3 magic damage and a high enough life total to last a few earthquakes.

3rd position: River Hellondale

The rusurrect ability is underrated. The inspire ability is also fantastic and this will be one of the earlier cards that I level up when I have the funds.

4th position: Axemaster

Axemaster is able to pour on a lot of damage even when my opponent debuffs magic and/or melee damage. Sometimes opponent's debuff ranged attacks too, but not usually all 3. This lineup has enough firepower that I'm able to focus on what I expect to face.

5th position: Venari Wavesmith

The protect ability is so strong. It doesn't get overlooked as frequently or as easily as the Resurrect ability but the power of it cannot be overstated. I think Queen Mycelia is a strictly better card but Venari Wavesmith is available when legendary cards are not, it's also dirt cheap.
The protect ability really shines in the earthquake ruleset where it buys the whole team an extra turn. I love to put Wavesmith in the final position with River Hellondale on the team, this way Venari Wavesmith soaks up sneak attacks and opportunity attacks so that it can usually die first and reset the protect ability for the whole team.
There's been a lot of stink about the recent proposal to incentivize leveling up cards. I actually prefer to have my Venari Wavesmith acting as a level 1 card so that it soaks up both sneak and opportunity hits. If the Wavesmith has as much life as River Hellondale then sometimes Hellondale dies first and isn't able to resurrect anything.

Did we win?

Yes, even against a blinged out fancy deck with a bunch of gold leveled up cards and a legendary summoner from Beta.

Do I like Venari Wavesmith?

Yes, there are a lot of bigger, fancier and more expensive cards that I could put in this position but Venari Wavesmith is tried and true. This is a lineup that I come back to over and over again for a number of reasons.

What will I try differently next time?

I'm very happy with the team that I brought. I think that Kelya would have worked better against this particular lineup from my opponent and especially in the earthquake ruleset but like I said for whatever reason I face Obsidian all the time in earthquakes.

Thanks for reading and thanks for all the upvotes, reblogs, comments and follows. I'll see you in the game.
