Isn't it interesting that the Life Sapper is in the Death splinter?

Here's the ruleset
Lineup:
Summoner: Thaddius Brood
Debuffs magic attacks and lowers the health of opponent's monsters. This can pair beautifully with a magic attacker that will take out a monster on the back line that might otherwise have 2 health.
Tank: Cursed Windeku
The Windeku has become the default tank for the death splinter especially in low mana battles. The thorns and starting health are great. The speed is decent too.
1st and 2nd positions: Fiend and Chicken
I don't always include these in the Explosive weaponry ruleset. They're too easy to hit if my opponent is using something with opportunity. I use them here to protect my life sapper from a possible life sapper on my opponent's team.
3rd position: Life Sapper
The Life Leech ability means that this monster can be a real powerhouse for just 3 mana. If it's well enough protected it can get up to 6 or 7 health by the time it comes under fire. The Life Leech ability pairs beautifully with the explosive weaponry ruleset. This monster gets to Leech Life from multiple monsters on each attack and run it's health up even quicker.
Rear tank: Weirding Warrior
This monster has the potential to wreck an opposing tank's shield with its Shatter ability. That didn't really matter in this battle as it ended up just being extra Life to Leech for my opponent's Life Sapper.
Did my strategy work?
Yes, but this was a close one and the dice rolled my way when they started to die from exhaustion.
Do I like Life Sapper?
Yes. I already used Venari Bonesmith on a regular basis and this is extremely similar for 1 less mana.
What will I try differently next time?
This whole lineup would have been great with Owster Rotwell or Drake of Arnak as summoner. Drake may have helped my Windeku last longer. Owster would have prevented all that Life Leeching that my opponent got out of their Life Sapper.
