Daily Challenge Talismans, new Settings

Seven changes have gone live since the Altar opened. The Daily Challenge now pays a Talisman, VIP Auto-battle collects the daily Talismans, and a round of changes from player feedback: new Settings, a Quick start for How to Play, layouts for tablets and short laptop screens, and a result banner that waits for the battle to finish.

The Daily Challenge pays a Talisman

Every day brings one Daily Challenge, the same for everyone. Until now, meeting it earned a badge on your player profile and kept your day streak going. From today it also pays a bonus Talisman.

Meet the day's challenge in a win in any battle for Tickets (Ranked, Sealed, Draft or stakes) and a Talisman of its own lands in your inventory. That is on top of the match prize, the first-win Talisman, and the challenge's badge. So a good day can now bring two Talismans besides the prize: one for your first win, one for the challenge. A new challenge starts at midnight UTC.

The Daily Challenges playbook goes through every challenge, with what to build for each one.

VIP Auto-battle collects them too

VIP Auto-battle wins now collect both daily Talismans, the first-win one and the Daily Challenge one, just like a win you play yourself. A VIP who is away still comes back to them.

What is a Talisman, anyway?

The Battle lobby now says it, right beside the bonuses: a Talisman sets the rules of your Friendly Lane. Keep it, equip it to a Deck, sell it on the Market, or offer it at the Altar. The lobby also states what the Daily Challenge pays, so nobody has to ask.

Settings has grown

These all came from player feedback. Open the ? menu and choose Settings:

  • Hand position. Your Hand can stand left of the Lanes, right of them, or in a row above them.
  • Animations. Full, Low or Off. Low drops the battle figures and decorative motion; Off keeps everything still.
  • Card on hover. Switch it on to see a Monster's or Archon's full Splinterlands card beside it when you point at it.

Also new

  • How to Play opens on a Quick start: one page, eleven lines from Lanes to prizes, with the full guide one click away. The full rules are also on how to play Splinterlanes.
  • Smaller screens. On a tablet held upright the Lanes now get the full width, with your Hand in a row beneath them. On short laptop screens the whole Hand fits beside the board.
  • The Victory and Defeat banner waits until the final round has finished playing, so you see how the battle ended before you see who won.

Questions, bug reports and Talisman finds are welcome in the comments. Sign in with Hive Keychain at splinterlanes.com to play.
