Yesterday was pouring. I was awake around six in the morning because there was a loud thunderstorm. I was rattled up by the loud bang from the skies. I thought I was dreaming of fireworks. I cannot go back to bed because my sleep was totally ruined already. I decided to just make breakfast for the family to make my time useful. Our breakfast is crab and corn soup which is perfect for the weather. There are instant mixes available in the market already so that is an easy peezy way of cooking. I just cooked rice and hotdogs too.
Amazingly, the rain abruptly stopped around 7 am and the surroundings are slowly glowing. Ahh, after the rain, there will always be warmth.
I just took my hot cocoa in our garden and took some pictures. I found our dog Lucas sleeping beside the cold plant pots and cold concrete. The rain sip into the land and to the pots that is why it is cold. Our dogs love the cold weather. They fall asleep so quickly.
Brrr, the cold breeze is making me sleep. The concrete is cold and the droplets fall to my nose -Lucas.
Lucas is an aspin. It is a breed from the Philippines. He is now three years old. He is such an energetic dog. He jumps when he sees us, which is totally okay. Look at him in the picture, as if he is not that naughty dog jumping around. We have two more dogs namely Bricks and Sciony. Both are aspins too. I will feature them on this platform soon.
Look at this spider web! I am not really scared of spiders except if it is as big as my hand then I will run away from them. But these creatures are artists too in the sense that they make their webs in a symmetrical way. I do not like the hairy ones and googly eyes because I feel like in a minute, they will jump at me. I feel goosebumps everywhere.
Some droplets on leaves.
The rain reminds me of being a child. When there was a heavy, pouring rain, we go out and dance in the rain. As if it is a big shower for us. We do not care what people think of us. What was important for me as a kid was I am enjoying the rain. No care what they said. After that, our parents will scold us because the cold rain will make us sick. We took a bath and served hot cocoa to make us warm. Life was simple back then. No problem to ponder on.
Now that I am older, I see that rain has many different meanings. Rain could be a blessing or curse. Rain could mean being sentimental. It depends on a person on how the rain is viewed or given value. Am I happy when it is raining? Yes, because rice fields are watered, the air is cool. Am I sad when it is raining? Yes, because it reminds me of floodings and casualties.
Final Thoughts
I really want to dedicate my Sundays as rest days. You know, our body is not a machine. We need to take a break from time to time. It also rewires our brain. There are many benefits of taking a break. Bonus, my Sunday is raining! It is such a blessing to me because I do not need to water the plants anymore, haha!
I enjoyed my Sunday. Hope you did too!
What did you do last Sunday? Was your day raining too? I would love to know!
