Art Process

The first is to sketch the draft. I thought this pose was perfect for the card. I like how the left hand is positioned on the waist. I just copied the character roughly and added the crystal ice everywhere. Next, I chose a solid pencil/brush for the lineart. I used a vector layer for cleaner lines.

I then applied the base colors using the color-picker tool. I adjusted the saturation to a duller shade. I separated them into different layers.

Adding the shadows makes the character in 3D form. I started with cell shading and then soft shading using the airbrush.

Here, I added the shines and blushes. I used the airbrush in add glow mode for the clothing and wings. I throw some purple glow on the wings to match with the hair.

Final Art

Originally, I wanted to add ice crystals. But then to highlight more of the character, I made itself the background. I just copied the whole folder and adjusted the size. I lowered the opacity to make the front pop. Lastly, I added a blue border to separate the elements.
