I wanted to draw Ocean Healer in a closeup portrait and focus it on the eyes. I am practicing a new eye design, so it was fitting to apply it in this fan art, hehe. 😊 As always, I used a pencil-textured pen for the lineart. I added a flower pin hair, pearl earrings, and an armlet to match.
Next is to apply the base colors. The iconic blue hair color and a strip of navy blue. I then started working on the eyes. It was a bit of a time consuming for me but it was worth it.
Applying the blush and lip color. I applied an unsaturated skin color because it would be against the light. For the light source, I used a pink color in glow mode using an airbrush. I applied it to the right side of the hair and onto the face. I used a blend and blur brush for the edges to soften them. I used a glitter brush for the tiny dots on the hair.
I added more strips of hair on the back and then blurred them to add dimension. I added another light source across the face and then blur them again. I then masked the canvas with a textured image in lowered opacity.
Finished art! ✨
