Amigurumi Bunny - Security blanket

Un buen día una compañera de trabajo me contactó y me preguntó que si podía hacer una manta de apego de conejita para la hija de una amiga (ella me envió una imagen), a lo que inmediatamente, le respondí que sí. Conversamos sobre los colores y algunos detalles relacionados a la manta. Me conmovió mucho que sin conocerme mucho depositará en mí semejante responsabilidad, este sería el regalo que ella le reglaría a la niña.

One day a co-worker contacted me and asked if I could make a bunny blanket for a friend's daughter (she sent me an image), to which I immediately responded yes. We talked about the colors and some details related to the blanket. She moved me very much that, without knowing me very much, she would place such a responsibility on me, this would be the gift that she would give to the girl.

Ella quería que manta fuese tejida en los colores anaranjado y beige, personalmente el anaranjado me parecía como un color muy fuerte, traté de persuadir de que usará un color de la gama pastel, como verde suave, rosado e inclusive morado, mi compañera de trabajo no se dejó persuadir.

Paso siguiente buscar los hilos, en mis hilos no tenía el color anaranjado, por fortuna el día que salí a comprar los hilos conseguí el color anaranjado en una lana antialérgica y también conseguí el colore beige. Seguía sin convencerme el color anaranjado, pero los gustos del cliente son los que deben prevalecer.

Para este proyecto comencé tejiendo la manta, la realicé tejiendo un hexágono, intercalando ambos colores. Y para darle un acabado a la orilla, tejí en punto cangrejo y así lograr un acabado elegante y sencillo. Combinar los dos colores hizo que el anaranjado se suavizará.

She wanted the blanket to be woven in orange and beige, personally orange seemed like a very strong color to me, I tried to persuade her to use a color from the pastel range, like soft green, pink and even purple, my co-worker He did not allow himself to be persuaded.

Next step, look for the threads, my threads did not have the orange color, fortunately the day I went out to buy the threads I got the orange color in an anti-allergic yarn and I also got the beige color. I was still not convinced by the orange color, but the client's tastes are what should prevail.

For this project I started by knitting the blanket, I made it by knitting a hexagon, alternating both colors. And to give a finish to the edge, I knitted in crab stitch to achieve an elegant and simple finish. Combining the two colors made the orange soften.

Seguidamente comencé a tejer la cabeza de la conejita, la tejí en color beige, una vez que había avanzado en el tejido, coloqué unos alfileres, de tal forma garantizar que los ojitos de seguridad quedarán ubicados en el lugar correspondiente.

Next I began to knit the bunny's head, I knitted it in beige, once I had advanced in the knitting, I placed some pins, in such a way as to guarantee that the safety eyes will be located in the corresponding place.

Una vez determinado en donde quería ubicar los ojitos de seguridad, procedí a colocarlos y asegurarme que no se salieran nunca, esa parte es fundamental, ya que este resultado va para una niña. Esto se logra colocando el dispositivo de seguridad que viene con los ojitos.

Once I determined where I wanted to place the safety eyes, I proceeded to place them and make sure that they never came off, that part is essential, since this result is for a girl. This is achieved by placing the safety device that comes with the eyes.

Tejí un par de orejitas, realmente son unas orejitas muy largas. Fue grandioso tejerlas, a medida que iba tejiendo las colocaba en la cabeza para ir viendo como lucían.

Llegó el momento de bordar el hocico. Si observan, uso los alfileres para asegurarme de que lo que voy a bordar o colocar quede donde deba quedar.

It was time to embroider the snout. If you notice, I use the pins to make sure that what I am going to embroider or place is where it should be.

Y llegó el turno de tejer los brazos de y manos de la conejita. Me encantó esta parte en especial las manitos, tiene el pulgar, eso es una preciosura.

Llegó el momento de volcar la primavera en esta manta. La idea era colocar dos florecitas, una en cada orejita de la conejita.

Y cuando coloqué las florecitas (las dos) me parecieron muy pocas. Así que comencé a tejer flores, tejí de cuatro tipos y también tejí algunas hojas. Iba haciendo algunas pruebas sobre la cabeza de la conejita y me empezó a gustar lo que veía.

And when I placed the little flowers (both of them) they seemed very few to me. So I started knitting flowers, I knitted four types and I also knitted some leaves. I was doing some tests on the bunny's head and I started to like what I saw.

Este resultado me parece adorable y primaveral. El anaranjado me comenzó a gustar, las flores le dieron esa calidez y brillo que le hacía falta a este proyecto. Realmente disfruté mucho de este proyecto.

Me permití escuchar una vez mas a lo que el tejido me va diciendo y eso es la garantía absoluta de este resultado.

I find this result adorable and spring-like. I started to like the orange, the flowers gave it that warmth and brightness that this project was missing. I really enjoyed this project a lot.
