A novel about happiness

Grillermo es un grillo is a beautiful novel, but not because one of its protagonists is a brave prince, determined to face his destiny; nor is it beautiful because the loving companion who corresponds to the protagonist is pretty and fulfills his fairy dream of marrying a prince.

Grillermo es un grillo is a beautiful novel because of the way it is told, because of the similarities it has with real life; because literature is a mirror of reality, because things happen to the protagonists that are so similar to ours that, as we get to know them, we feel them, we live them and we add them as new experiences, not only as readers, but also as life experiences.

There are many examples. How many, at some point in their boring existence, have not said that they would like to be a Quixote to go to straighten out wrongs or simply to have the excuse to go out and travel, to live; because sometimes, we see that the life of literary characters is much more beautiful, more adventurous than ours; or we admire their decisions, their determination before the vicissitudes; how many times have we not dreamed of being the protagonist of a novel or have tried to solve a situation by applying some philosophy of life of a character.

That is why literature is beautiful, because it allows us to dream and dreams are the reflection of our desires; as literature, I repeat, is the mirror of reality; only that, as we have already pointed out, in certain circumstances fictions are better than life itself.

But returning to Grillermo es un grillo, I was saying that the story is well told; you will find a work full of actions; in each chapter the protagonists face diverse situations that allow the reading to be fluid; this rhythm, thanks to the abundance of vicissitudes is one of the keys of this novel by the Venezuelan writer, Tomás Jurado Zabala.

The other thing is that it is a novel of adventure; a journey that ends up becoming an analogy of life; a metaphor because life is a journey; since we are born we have to travel the paths of our existence; where we laugh and cry; we share experiences and learn to miss; we suffer, we know love, envy, we practice good and also evil; that is the journey through life and, mainly, in the pursuit of happiness.

And that is the theme of this novel; happiness. We all want to be happy, but sometimes we want good things to fall from the sky; and in Grillermo es un grillo we discover that there are mishaps that can change our course and turn our journey into an adventure where we can discover an infinite number of simple things that represent true happiness.

It is a novel that for now is only available on Amazon; and it is available in physical and digital. I can assure you that it is an ideal story for children, young people and adults for the simplicity in which it is narrated, for the elegance in the literary discourse, for the richness in the adventures of the protagonists, for the practical philosophy of life that the author leaves us at the end through one of his characters, because it reminds us that happiness is possible and that all we have to do is look at ourselves, and then at the environment, to understand that it has always been there in front of our noses.
