Estoy súper emocionada de estar por acá de regreso. El día de hoy vengo a hablarles sobre una saga que me atrapó desde el primer instante: Pecados Placenteros, escrita por Eva Muñoz. Sé perfectamente que esta historia genera opiniones muy divididas; mientras a muchos nos encanta, para otros no es para nada de su agrado. ¡Y es totalmente válido, para gustos hay un sinfín de colores!

Sin embargo, en esta reseña no me quiero limitar a discutir solo el romance o los comportamientos tóxicos de algunos personajes —que sin duda los hay y entran en un debate necesario—. Lo que realmente me fascinó y me impulsó a escribirles hoy es cómo la autora te envuelve en una cascada de emociones, amenazas, estrategia militar y manejo de información que son importantes de analizar. Aunque la saga todavía no está terminada y voy por la mitad del tercer libro, la experiencia de leerla y conocer este universo ha sido increíble y hoy quiero contarles qué tal me pareció.

I'm super excited to be back here. Today I come to talk to you about a saga that caught me from the very first moment: Pleasant Sin, written by Eva Muñoz. I know perfectly well that this story generates very divided opinions; while many of us love it, for others it is not at all your liking. And it's totally valid, for tastes there are countless colors!

However, in this review I do not want to limit myself to discussing only the romance or toxic behaviors of some characters - which certainly there are and enter into a necessary debate. What really fascinated me and prompted me to write to you today is how the author wraps you in a waterfall of emotions, threats, military strategy and information management that are important to analyze. Although the saga is not yet finished and I go in the middle of the third book, the experience of reading it and knowing this universe has been amazing and today I want to tell you how it seemed.

En esta historia nos adentramos en el universo de la FEM (Fuerza Especial Militar) en Londres, una organización de altísimo rango que se encarga de capturar a los criminales más famosos y peligrosos de la élite mundial. Por un lado tenemos a Rachel James, una teniente muy conocida, atrevida, fuerte, audaz, súper inteligente y especialista en combate, que además viene de una familia amorosa y estable.

Por el otro lado aparece el personaje más polémico de la historia, al que yo le digo "el loco": el coronel Christopher Morgan. Christopher es un hombre sumamente apuesto, pero también frío, impulsivo, déspota y con actitudes bien feas y tóxicas en muchos momentos. A este hombre no le importa pasar por encima de nadie, y mucho menos coquetearle de forma indecente a Rachel, creando un bucle y un mundo lleno de demasiadas cosas.

Pero más allá de si Christopher es un hombre tóxico o de la relación entre ellos dos, lo que realmente sostiene la historia es cómo la autora nos habla de un mundo de criminales, narcotráfico, militares y demás temas que hoy en día son tabú. Eva Muñoz se tomó el tiempo de investigar y estudiar todo este contexto para darnos una trama muy bien elaborada sobre el crimen de élite que te mantiene atrapada en todo momento.

In this story, we delve into the world of the FEM (Military Special Forces) in London, a high-ranking organization tasked with capturing the most notorious and dangerous criminals among the global elite. On one hand, we have Rachel James, a well-known lieutenant who is daring, strong, bold, extremely intelligent, and a combat specialist—and who also comes from a loving and stable family.

On the other hand, we have the most controversial character in the story, whom I call “the madman”: Colonel Christopher Morgan. Christopher is an extremely handsome man, but he’s also cold, impulsive, despotic, and displays truly awful and toxic behavior at times. This man doesn’t care about stepping on anyone to get what he wants, much less flirting indecently with Rachel, creating a vicious cycle and a world filled with far too much drama.

But beyond whether Christopher is a toxic man or the nature of their relationship, what really drives the story is how the author takes us into a world of criminals, drug trafficking, the military, and other topics that are taboo today. Eva Muñoz took the time to research and study this entire context to give us a very well-crafted plot about elite crime that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

Precisamente por esta razón decidí traer este análisis a la comunidad. Cuando leemos una historia no podemos simplemente enfrascarnos en el tema del romance, a menos que sea lo único que estemos buscando. En mi caso, me adentré en este mundo porque me intrigó, pero sabiendo a lo que iba. Creo que hay que tomar la ficción con madurez y respeto: aunque sepamos que la pareja es altamente tóxica y que hay cosas cuestionables que pasan en la vida real, es parte del desarrollo de la historia.

Lo que realmente me llamó la atención fue cómo la autora aborda la trama militar. A mí sinceramente los temas policiales o militares nunca me habían llamado tanto la atención. Para escribir de esto no te puedes limitar a decir "este es militar y esta es policía"; tienes que indagar muchísimo más a fondo para transmitirle ese contenido a tus lectores y que se enganchen.

Y siento que Eva lo logró de forma magnífica. Se nota que se tomó el tiempo de investigar cómo pasan las cosas en ese mundo, por qué es tan cruel, por qué hay tantas muertes o consumo de sustancias ilícitas, mostrando la crudeza sin tomarse el tema a la ligera. Ese respeto al investigar sobre organizaciones tan complejas fue un acierto enorme.

That is precisely why I decided to share this analysis with the community. When we read a story, we can’t just get caught up in the romance, unless that’s the only thing we’re looking for. In my case, I delved into this world because it intrigued me, but I knew what I was getting into. I think we need to approach fiction with maturity and respect: even though we know the couple is highly toxic and that questionable things happen in real life, it’s part of the story’s development.

What really caught my attention was how the author handles the military plotline. Honestly, police or military themes had never really grabbed my attention before. To write about this, you can’t just say, “This is the military and this is the police”; you have to dig much deeper to convey that content to your readers and keep them hooked.

And I feel that Eva pulled it off magnificently. You can tell she took the time to research how things work in that world—why it’s so cruel, why there are so many deaths or instances of illicit drug use—portraying the harsh reality without treating the subject lightly. That respect for researching such complex organizations was a huge success.

Hablando un poco de los personajes, como ya les dije, yo no voy a justificar ni a suavizar los comportamientos de nadie. Esto no es un mundo color de rosa; es una historia cruda con una pareja tóxica que tiene problemas de poder. Los dos son protagonistas súper fuertes y tienen una atracción innegable, pero también está ese choque de "yo también tengo poder y tengo mi rango".

Por un lado, Rachel me encanta porque es una mujer fuerte que no se deja intimidar por nada ni por nadie. Por el otro lado está Christopher, a quien le tengo un amor-odio terrible: lo amo, pero también lo detesto y siento que es el peor hombre del mundo. Sin embargo, tengo que admitir que es un coronel sumamente preparado, con fuerza, coraje y una preparación bárbara. También está el tema de la infidelidad, algo que yo detesto en la vida real, pero que aquí genera un conflicto en la historia que, aunque me sorprendía, me hacía querer seguir leyendo más y más.

Lo que más me impactó —tanto con ellos como con los personajes secundarios— es cómo la historia pasa de momentos de tranquilidad a situaciones súper críticas con criminales peligrosos. Al leer las batallas y la preparación militar, mi imaginación voló por completo. Sentí como si tuviera una televisión interna en mi cerebro transmitiéndome una película de acción. No con cualquier libro me pasa que me enganche tanto y me haga crear esa película mental escena por escena.

Speaking a little about the characters—as I already told you—I’m not going to justify or sugarcoat anyone’s behavior. This isn’t a rose-colored world; it’s a raw story about a toxic couple dealing with power struggles. Both are incredibly strong protagonists and share an undeniable attraction, but there’s also that clash of “I have power too, and I have my own standing.”

On the one hand, I love Rachel because she’s a strong woman who doesn’t let anything or anyone intimidate her. On the other hand, there’s Christopher, whom I have a terrible love-hate relationship with: I love him, but I also detest him and feel like he’s the worst man in the world. However, I have to admit that he’s an extremely capable colonel—strong, courageous, and incredibly well-trained. There’s also the issue of infidelity, something I detest in real life, but which creates a conflict in the story that—even though it surprised me—made me want to keep reading more and more.

What struck me the most—both with them and with the secondary characters—is how the story shifts from moments of calm to extremely critical situations involving dangerous criminals. As I read about the battles and the military training, my imagination ran wild. I felt as if I had a TV inside my brain playing an action movie. It’s not every book that hooks me so deeply and makes me create that mental movie scene by scene.

Todas estas dinámicas de poder y cómo se maneja el mundo militar hacen que la historia sea increíble. La autora creó otras ramas dentro de este universo criminal donde entran cosas muy oscuras como la trata de personas, la violencia y la corrupción de la élite. Aquí no hay gente totalmente buena; todos son personajes moralmente grises viviendo en un mundo igual de gris.

Nos demuestra que aquí no vas a encontrar un cuento de hadas. Como civiles a veces vemos el mundo militar por encima, pero la autora nos muestra ese trasfondo oscuro y la crueldad humana de una forma muy realista. Al final, lo que a mí me enganchó no fue tanto el romance tóxico, sino que la historia me dio thriller, crimen, suspenso y esa sensación de estar viendo una película.

Para mí de eso se trata la lectura. Yo no solo leo romance clásico o deportivo, leo de todo, desde ciencia hasta historias super oscuras. Lo que no me gusta es leer por leer. Me gusta explorar mundos diferentes, analizar las cosas con criterio propio y sacar mis propias conclusiones sin justificar lo malo, pero disfrutando del viaje que te da el libro.

All these power dynamics and the way the military world operates make for an incredible story. The author has created other branches within this criminal universe that involve very dark elements such as human trafficking, violence, and corruption among the elite. There are no entirely good people here; they’re all morally gray characters living in an equally gray world.

It shows us that this isn’t a fairy tale. As civilians, we sometimes view the military world from the outside, but the author reveals its dark underbelly and human cruelty in a very realistic way. In the end, what really hooked me wasn’t so much the toxic romance, but the fact that the story offered thriller, crime, suspense, and that feeling of watching a movie.

For me, that’s what reading is all about. I don’t just read classic or sports romance—I read everything, from science fiction to really dark stories. What I don’t like is reading just for the sake of reading. I like to explore different worlds, analyze things with my own judgment, and draw my own conclusions without justifying the bad, but while enjoying the journey the book takes you on.
