Today is #tbt Thursday, and this time I'm moving to two very strange Decembers for all of us, December 2020 and December 2021. The first one was the strangest of them all, and that is that seeing family became a great coincidence and a bit of daring on our part for being in the middle of the pandemic. At my work we had a meeting in November with many preventive measures, it was only a week and they separated the men from the women so that each group did a concert in the room and that everyone was far apart, but in December as such there was no activity, but I was able to come to my hometown to spend the season with my parents, and I had eight months that I had not seen them.
¡Hoy es Jueves de #tbt!, y en esta oportunidad me traslado hasta dos Diciembre muy extraños para todos nosotros, el Diciembre de 2020 y de 2021. El primero de ellos fue el más extraño de todos, y es que verse con la familia llegó a ser una gran casualidad y un poco de atrevimiento de nuestra parte por estar en medio de la pandemia. En mi trabajo tuvimos un encuentro en Noviembre con muchas medidas preventivas, solo fue una semana y nos separaron a los hombres de las mujeres para que cada grupo hiciera un concierto en la sala y que todos estuvieran muy separados, pero en Diciembre como tal no hubo actividad, pero pude llegar a mi ciudad natal a pasar la temporada con mis padres, y tenía ocho meses que no los veía.
2021 was a year a little more violent, and many people were neglected and got sick, including me, but by December all the jobs were active, the companies could not continue stopped and I remember that December we gave everything on stage with our Christmas music, we still had a mouthpiece that did not affect the sound, and we rehearsed many months with it and we adapted to sing like that. The audience was also small, everyone sat far away in the seats of our theater, but I remember that Christmas concert as one of the best, and this is my favorite repertoire and I had never sung it with this powerful choir. The video you can see above is a fragment of the emotion we experienced that day, a rare but very beautiful concert.
2021 fue un año un poco más violento, y es que muchas personas se descuidaron y se enfermaron, incluyéndome, pero ya para Diciembre todos los trabajos estaban activos, las empresas no podían seguir detenidas y recuerdo que ese Diciembre dimos todo en el escenario con nuestra música navideña, igual teníamos un cubre bocas que no nos afectó en el sonido, y es que ensayamos muchos meses con con el y nos adaptamos a cantar así. El público también era reducido, todos se sentaban muy alejados en las butacas de nuestro teatro, pero recuerdo ese concierto navideño como uno de los mejores, y es que este es mi repertorio preferido y nunca lo había cantado con esta poderosa coral. El video que pueden ver arriba es un fragmento de la emoción que vivimos ese día, un concierto raro, pero muy bonito.
The song is called Luna Dicembrina and is a composition of Maestro Otilio Galindez, I do not know if this man felt the magnitude of the power of this parranda while he wrote it, maybe yes, and it became one of the most cheerful and characteristic songs of Venezuelan choral music, I think there is not a single choir in the country that has not sung it in December and is still the favorite of the public. La canción se llama Luna Dicembrina y es una composición del Maestro Otilio Galíndez, yo no sé si este hombre sintió la magnitud del poder de esta parranda mientras la escribió, puede que sí, y es que se convirtió en una de las canciones más alegres y características de la música coral venezolana, creo que no hay ni un solo coro en el país que no la haya cantado en Diciembre y sigue siendo la favorita del público.
