Welcome to Three Tune Tuesday. A nice space in the Music community that was born from the idea of brother @ablaze, where all participants recommend music to each other. I imagine that not everyone knows Jessica Simpson, and others may not remember her very well, because her popularity was not so great outside my house. In her time she was like the third or fourth Britney Spears 😅 depending on the tastes of each one, but what nobody comments is that vocally she was one of the most powerful pop promises of the early 2000s. It's been more than 20 years and she continues to release new music, with a fresh sound and powerful lyrics that provokes singing at the top of your lungs.

Imagino que no todos conocen a Jessica Simpson, y otros quizás la recuerden poco, y es que su popularidad no fue tan grande fuera de mi casa. En su tiempo ella fue como la tercera o cuarta Britney Spears 😅 dependiendo de los gustos de cada quien, pero lo que nadie comenta es que vocalmente era una de las más poderosas promesas del pop de inicios de los 2000. Han pasado más de 20 años y sigue sacando música nueva, con un sonido fresco y letras poderosas que provoca cantar a todo pulmón.

Leave was a song that came out two months ago and the cover letter to what appears to be two albums, Nashville Canyon. It may not sound like much of a comeback, but it's the quiet music many of us are looking for to sing along to at home. I read recently that it was over 15 years without releasing a new album, but during that time I know she was married too and like every artist I know in the pop scene the relationship didn't end well, so powerful heartbreak songs like this one are born. The sound is different from what she was doing in the 2000s, but for an artist of a certain age I think it's excellent how she adapts to the adult contemporary style, you have to listen to her...

Leave fue una canción que apareció hace dos meses y la carta de presentación de lo que parece ser dos álbumes, Nashville Canyon. Puede que no suene como un gran regreso, pero es la música tranquila que muchos buscamos para cantar en casa. Leí hace poco que fueron más de 15 años sin lanzar un nuevo álbum, pero durante ese tiempo sé que estuvo casada también y como cada artista que conozco de la escena pop la relación no terminó bien, así que nace poderosas canciones de desamor como esta. El sonido es distinto a lo que venía haciendo en la década de los 2000, pero para ser una artista con cierta edad me parece excelente como se adapta al estilo adulto contemporáneo, tienen que escucharla...

Now we go to the year 2001, when she released a very commercial album and very criticized at the time called “Irresistible”, but I confess that in my adolescence it was one of my favorite albums, and eventually I listen to it, because I like all her songs, especially the one that gives name to the album. Many bad things were said about her and she was accused of wanting to copy Britney. I don't think it was like that, she was just another artist adapting to the fashion of the moment, but the truth is that vocally she sounded better than Britney, only Spears' magic is undisputed, so important was Britney that not even Aguilera was able to surpass her in sales. This song reminds me of the danceable sound of my adolescence and dreamy music videos, I think that if they didn't give her a chance at the time they could do it now.

Ahora nos vamos al año 2001, cuando lanzó un álbum muy comercial y muy criticado en su momento llamado "Irresistible", pero les confieso que en mi adolescencia fue uno de mis discos favoritos, y eventualmente lo escucho, ya que me gustan todas sus canciones, especialmente la que da nombre al álbum. Se dijeron muchas cosas malas sobre ella y la acusaron de querer copiar a Britney. Yo no creo que haya sido así, solo era una artista más adaptándose a la moda del momento, pero la verdad es que vocalmente sonaba mejor que Britney, solo que la magia de Spears no tiene discusión, tan importante fue Britney que ni siquiera Aguilera llegó a superarla en ventas. Esta canción me hace recordar el sonido bailable de mi adolescencia y videos musicales de ensueño, creo que si no le dieron una oportunidad en su momento podrían hacerlo ahora.

I once heard on TV that she didn't sell any more albums, but Jessica Simpson did become more popular when she did her cover of These Boots Are Made For Walking, a Nancy Sinatra original. I'm pretty sure it came out in 2005 and was the soundtrack to the movie The Dukes of Hazzard that year. I was so happy for her, she finally had recognition from most pop lovers, even though she had to change her demure Christian girl style to start getting noticed and she still got criticized, she never got lucky on that subject, and that's why I'm glad to see her making music nowadays away from that competitive industry sound of those years, sound that I love, but that wasn't kind to Simpson.

Alguna vez oí en televisión que no vendió más álbumes, pero Jessica Simpson sí llegó a ser más popular cuando hizo su cover de These Boots Are Made For Walking, original de Nancy Sinatra. Estoy casi seguro que salió en el año 2005 y fue la banda sonora de la película Los Duques de Hazzard de ese año. Me alegré mucho por ella, al fin tenía reconocimiento de la mayoría de los amantes del pop, aunque tuvo que cambiar su estilo recatado de chica cristiana para comenzar a ser notada y aún así la criticaron, ella nunca tuvo suerte en ese tema, y por eso me alegra verla haciendo música en la actualidad alejada de ese sonido competitivo de la industria de aquellos años, sonido que amo, pero que no fue amable con Simpson.

Blame It is the latest song she has been promoting for a month now. It has a bluesy sound that I love and that highlights her vocal qualities, and I think if her career had gone this way from the beginning today her story would be different, but well, the past is past, now it only remains for you to go and listen to her new album and fall in love with Jessica, everyone deserves new chances, especially her who worked so hard and believed in her career 🙏

Blame It es la última canción que está promocionando desde hace un mes. Tiene un sonido blues que amo y que resalta sus cualidades vocales, y creo que si su carrera hubiera ido por este camino desde el inicio hoy su historia sería distinta, pero bueno, el pasado es pasado, ahora solo queda que vayan y escuchen su nuevo álbum y se enamoren de Jessica, todos merecen nuevas oportunidades, especialmente ella que trabajó tan duro y creyó en su carrera 🙏
