We are the national choir because all the singers in our group come from different states of the country, and once, exactly two years ago, we became a world choir, when we welcomed several singers from different continents for two consecutive weeks, one of the best experiences I've had in this musical institution, and now, during the month of October, we have become a universal choir, just as our leader baptized us, and for the first time we will have to represent Venezuela simultaneously in two different nations, which has made the musical challenge greater...

Somos la coral nacional porque todos los cantantes de nuestra agrupación vienen de diferentes estados del país, y una vez, hace dos años exactamente nos convertimos en una coral mundial, cuando recibimos a varios cantantes de distintos continentes por dos semanas consecutivas, una de las mejores experiencias que he tenido en esta institución musical, y ahora, durante el mes de Octubre, nos hemos convertido en una coral universal, tal como nos bautizó nuestro jefe, y es que por primera vez tendremos que representar a Venezuela simultáneamente en dos naciones diferentes, lo que ha hecho que el reto musical sea mayor...

The Mexican representatives will bring the finest Venezuelan and Latin American academic repertoire. Music by Modesta Bor, Rafael Suarez, Gilberto Rebolledo, and Antonio Estévez, among others, will be performed at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and the Ocampo Theater in Morelos. Simultaneously, the representatives of the Italian national team will be present at a historic moment: the canonization of José Gregorio Hernández and Carmen Rendiles at the Vatican. In addition to performing great Renaissance composers such as Palestrina and Tomás Luis de Victoria, they will also perform music by important Venezuelan musicians such as Vicente Emilio Sojo, Miguel Astor, and Cesar Alejandro Carrillo.

Los representantes de México llevarán el mejor repertorio académico venezolano y latinoamericano. Música de Modesta Bor, Rafael Suarez, Gilberto Rebolledo y Antonio Estévez, entre otros, sonarán en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México y el Teatro Ocampo en Morelos. Simultáneamente los representantes de la selección de Italia estarán en un momento histórico, la canonización de José Gregorio Hernández y Carmen Rendiles en el Vaticano, y además de interpretar a grandes compositores del renacimiento como Palestrina o Tomás Luis de Victoria, se hará música de importantes músicos venezolanos como Vicente Emilio Sojo, Miguel Astor o Cesar Alejandro Carrillo.

At the end of these powerful days of work, both teams will meet for the mass of thanksgiving to the first Venezuelan saints, which will be held at the Monumental Stadium on October 25th in Caracas. It is there that we will perform the music you can hear in the video of this post, "El Pescador de Hombres" (The Fisherman of Men), along with other choirs from the capital. Many emotions are being experienced here, in addition to the hard work. All that remains for me to do is contribute my part so that everything goes well and is carried out successfully. I know it will; God and music are involved in these events, uniting people of different beliefs 🙏

Al final de estas poderosas jornadas de trabajo, ambas selecciones nos encontraremos para la misa multitudinaria en acción de gracia a los primeros santos venezolanos, que se llevará a cabo en el Estadio Monumental el 25 de Octubre en Caracas. Es ahí donde interpretaremos la música que pueden escuchar en el video de este post, el Pescador de Hombres, junto a otros coros de la capital. Muchas emociones se están viviendo por acá, además del arduo trabajo. Solo me queda aportar mi granito de arena para que todo salga bien y se lleve a cabo con éxito.
