My First Entry to the Feathered Friends Community

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the weekend that's just begun. Today I want to write something different. I've saved several photographs I took of some birds during my eternal summer vacation. I don't know if I'm a bird lover; I think nothing beats my love for cats, but birds always appear at special moments and delight us with their beauty or boldness. In fact, just today during the rehearsal break, one of them pooped on my coffee, haha, and as my choirmates say: That's good luck! 😅

¡Hola a todos!. Espero que se encuentren muy bien y que disfruten el fin de semana que ahora comienza para todos. Hoy quiero escribir algo distinto, y es que tengo guardada varias fotografías que tomé a algunas aves durante mis vacaciones de verano eterno. No sé si soy un amante de las aves, creo que nada supera mi amor por los gatos, pero los pájaros siempre aparecen en momentos especiales y nos deleitan con su belleza o atrevimiento; de hecho, hoy mismo en el receso de los ensayos uno de ellos hizo popo sobre mi café hahaha, y como dicen mis compañeros del coro: Eso es buena suerte! 😅

This first bird I'm showing you above is a chacharaca. I found it in Ávila at the end of July. In fact, there were several of them, and they were literally walking among the people, but this guy decided to stand there and pose for everyone's cameras. I didn't get too close; it's very large, but others dared to take selfies with it, and nothing happened. I found these birds when I unsuccessfully tried to climb Naiguatá Peak, and the trail is truly full of them. Beyond this friend, these past few months I've learned how difficult it is to photograph birds...

Este primer pájaro que les muestro arriba es una guacharaca. Lo encontré en el Ávila a finales del mes de Julio, de hecho habían varios de ellos y literalmente caminaban entre la gente, pero este chico decidió pararse ahí y posar para las cámaras de todos los presentes. Yo no me acerqué mucho, es muy grande, pero otros se atrevieron a tomarse selfies con él y no pasó nada. Estos pájaros los encontré cuando intenté subir el pico Naiguatá sin éxito, y de verdad que el sendero está lleno de ellos. Más allá de este amigo, estos meses aprendí lo difícil que es fotografiar pájaros...

This friend above is a Benteveo, and I saw many like it off the coast of La Guaira State during the month of August. I think it gave me the best photo I have to share today, as it allowed me to get close and remained friendly high in the palm canopies. Photographing such small birds required a lot of zooming with the camera, plus they tend to move around a lot. So I truly admire all the photographers who have the patience to capture good bird moments, because it's not an easy task...

Este amigo de arriba es un Benteveo, y vi muchos como el en las costas del Estado La Guaira durante el mes de Agosto. Creo que él me regaló la mejor foto que tengo para compartir hoy, ya que me permitió acercarme y se mantuvo amistoso en lo alto de los toldos de palmas. Para fotografiar aves tan pequeñas he tenido que hacer mucho zoon con la cámara, además de que ellas suelen moverse mucho, así que de verdad admiro a todos los fotógrafos que tienen la paciencia de capturar buenos momentos de aves, porque no es una tarea fácil...

Above, you can see a green jay. I found this bird near the Cruz del Ávila on my hiking trail on September 1st. It was difficult to photograph; I think these are the lower-quality photos due to the zoom, but I think it's the most beautiful bird you'll see in this post, and that's reflected in its vivid colors. It didn't approach me, but I remember being the only person sitting up there, resting and appreciating the beauty of Caracas, and it walked close to me, without any fear.

Arriba pueden apreciar una chara verde. Este pájaro lo encontré cerca de la Cruz del Ávila en mi ruta de senderismo del primero de Septiembre. Me costó fotografiarlo, creo que estas son las fotos con menor calidad debido al zoom, pero creo que es el pájaro más hermoso que podrán apreciar en ese post, y eso lo hacen sus colores vivos. No se acercó a mí, pero recuerdo que yo era la única persona sentada allá arriba descansando y apreciando la belleza de la ciudad de Caracas, y el caminaba cerca de mí, sin ningún temor.

I'm almost certain that due to its size, black color, eyes, and tail feathers, this bird above is a crow 😅 since they are everywhere. That day I didn't want to get too close and I didn't look at the camera too much. I was sitting at another table under the palm trees facing the sea and I saw this guy searching through the crumbs of my Doritos, next to my empty beer bottle and my wife's glasses. They are quite daring, the whole trip to the beach they got into a lot of mischief among the crows and seagulls, but at least he gave me some very beautiful photos that I wanted to share with everyone specifically in this community, I hope you like them too... To say goodbye, I leave you with this unique photo of a hummingbird posing in front of the clouds on my last visit to Ávila Mágica, a dream place at the top of Caracas ❤️

Estoy casi seguro que por su tamaño, color negro, ojos y plumas de la cola, esta ave de arriba es un cuervo 😅 ya que ellos están por todas partes. Ese día no me quise acercar mucho y tampoco hice mucho zoon a la cámara. Yo estaba sentado en otra mesa bajo las palmeras frente al mar y vi a este chico buscando entre las boronas de mis doritos, al lado de la botella vacía de mi cerveza y los lentes de mi esposa. Ellos son bastante atrevidos, todo el viaje a la playa hicieron muchas travesuras entre los cuervos y las gaviotas, pero al menos me regaló unas fotos muy bonitas que quería compartir con todos específicamente en esta comunidad, espero que a ustedes también les guste... Ya para despedirme, los dejo con esta única foto de un colibrí posando frente a las nubes en mi última visita a Ávila Mágica, un lugar de ensueño en la cima de Caracas ❤️
