Hello friends. I hope you are having a great day. I'm here to write these lines of what was my weekend, a couple of happy days to end my transitory month of May with a lot of grace. The girl that accompanies me in the picture is 
Here in Venezuela, the day after our anniversary is the anniversary date of a popular shopping mall called Sambil, so we usually give each other gifts as if it was still part of our personal day. The main reason is that because it is the day of the mall all the stores usually make great offers, even for more than a day, but this time it was more special, because they inaugurated the new Sambil, and this is much closer to our new home, the Sambil La Candelaria in downtown Caracas.
We have actually visited the new Sambil since November when the first stores opened, and we have already had the pleasure of eating there many times. Even so, they saved a lot of new and special things for May 28th which would be the official opening, and even though we have been there many times, we were surprised by the amount of people and the good vibe that was there.
The day had excitement for all ages. While we adults were generally in stasis with the merchandise offerings, the kids had all kinds of distractions and games to make for a dream Sunday afternoon, including the presence of movie characters, robots, balloons everywhere and lots of jesters, all very friendly with the visitors, to the point of bringing you back to your childhood feelings and smiling and remembering anecdotes along with them.
It is no secret to anyone at Hive that things are not going very well in Venezuela. Last year I felt a certain stability in the economy, but I realized that with the arrival of 2023 everything was an illusion, like everything else here. Even so, it is always a joy for me to discover how parents and private companies manage to entertain their children and promote commerce, respectively.
Personally I have had a hard time lifting my spirits since the death of my dad in February, although more than that, it is possible that it is the whole process of accident and illness that we have been living with him for almost a year now, so visiting sites with so much joy and excitement like this one do me a lot of good and for moments make me forget so many sad things. Of course the company of mui girl is vital for my good mood. On each floor there was at least one stage and many shows, games or contests. All the stores were focused on having a high-impact and eye-catching opening for the public.
In addition to the excitement of the weekend, the mall was beautiful. It is very pleasant to be there, it looks modern, has very useful stores and places for recreation. The gourmet area is very varied, the parking lot is ample and its location in the center of the city makes it a special and preferred space for many. There is still no movie theater, but I don't think it won't be long before one opens. Being between home and work, I know it will be a special stop for me.
