When I read the themes proposed by Galenkp for this weekend I could not resist remembering the anecdotes of my first trip. I look very smiling in these pictures, and possibly I will always be like that every time I get on a plane, but I assure you that inside I will be terrified; yes, I do not know if I will have a trip as terrifying as the first one, because beyond the excitement, and now that I have flown three times and I'm going for the fourth and fifth time next month (many emotions to be my first year), I can assure that my first flight will always be the worst 😅
But... Was my first flight really that bad? I ask myself this question because leaving my country for the first time, singing in Europe and being a tourist in so many Spanish cities is one of the best things that ever happened to me and it was definitely a dream come true, but in 35 years I had never flown on a plane, so I had a lot of expectations, and none of them happened. I got on that plane confident that my girl would accompany me at all times and it was not so, she was far away from me, my friends betrayed me 🤣 the trip was at night and I had gotten up early because of anxiety, I never imagined that I could not sleep on a plane because of the discomfort.
I am a man who snores a lot and I felt uncomfortable to be with strangers, besides, I got the middle seat 😭 not only was not sleeping, but I am very embarrassed to ask permission to go to the bathroom, and if there is someone on this earth who goes to the bathroom every five minutes when he is nervous it is me 😵💫 I was very close to the turbines and the noise and the feeling of the take off almost killed me, that's why I never go to roller coasters or anything like that, even the bridges and elevated ones affect me. I really thought my heart was going to give out and it was so much that the ladies next to me took my hands and rubbed my head to calm me down... What a shame! 😞
About three hours later I was already a little calm, I got up to go to the bathroom and set out to watch a series I had downloaded on Netflix. Evidently it started to make me sleepy, everything felt a bit normal and I think before I finished the episode I was playing on my phone I was already more in the dream world than on the plane, but that's when the terror started.... The turbulence 🤯 it lasted a long time and there was about 5 hours of travel left. I was starting to get desperate, I started to see the plane smaller. I remember I was very warm because everyone was telling me that it was very cold up there and that they even gave blankets, but no, my blood pressure did not allow me to be cold, in fact I sweated a lot and it was very uncomfortable to take off my long coat, because I did not want to bother the ladies who had just fallen asleep... It was horrible...
