So starting next year the USDA has decided to ease some of the rules surrounding school lunches that was placed from Obama's term. Things included will bring back 1% chocolate milk, more sodium choices and carbs as well as keeping some healthier options. "In the fiscal year 2015 alone, Obama’s school food requirements cost school budgets an additional $1.22 billion." They also said Obama’s nutritional regulations added ten cents to the cost of every lunch and 27 cents to every breakfast, requiring local school districts to absorb $1.2 billion in additional costs in 2015 alone. This alone will give kids better options while saving money as someone like me I was able to experience both sides before and after and I like where this is going. I get they want kids to eat healthy though if you force the kid as I was and got detention over an apple lol kids are just going to accept it then throw it away later. It helps on the parents side too to showcase better options vs sugary snacks as what the kid will eat at home will mimic at schools. I am curious what you guys think and I will leave links down below.
