The night has fallen again.

The night has fallen yet again,

And I am yet again at a loss.

I cannot say if today has been a gain,
Or is it all up for a toss?

Do we (any of us) have any form of control?
Or do we all follow along some predetermined course?

Why do we lose our freedoms at every turn?
Do we relinquish them willingly?

Or (as I believe) are they slipped away surreptitiously
In the night, while no one is watching, cynically?

How can we all be brethen If we must relenquish our
Freedoms to live under someone's rules?

We all must be in awe of each other, so that
We can embrace our differences in peace.

Night has fallen again
