Looking at things that
Need to be done, or could be done, but
I do nothing.
I go to bed late, I get up late,
I do nothing.
I don't leave the house except to check mail or
Get groceries.
I am so truly alone it seems.
Piddling around on my deck with my plants helps, but doesn't
Dispel the sense of futility. I can't watch the news;
It's always the same thing over and over, today it's the rioting,
Before that it was the pandemic.
Yesterday I had to go get a CT Scan at the VA.
Traffic was light.
Parking was (gasp!) available, but when I went to go into the
Hospital, I was stopped, had my forehead scanned to see if I
Had any fever (I mean really! If I had been sick, would I have
Gone to the hospital? Oh wait!)
He asked me if I'd had a fever (yes, a month ago) have you
Had any coughing (no not really) and I was getting angrier by
The second, so he put the petty little sticker on my left pectoral
And sent me on my way.
THEN I had a coughing fit because I was upset.
People were looking at me like I had the plague.
At times like these it has always been my tendency to mouth
Some platitude (This too shall pass)
I saw an advert on Facebook from one of my long time clients today,
“We miss you all here at Cadence of Marietta” and I posted that
“I miss you all too. Not playing Music is driving me crazy, but to be
Fair, I didn't have far to drive”
I can't even sit down at my piano for more than a
Few moments at a time;
No drive, no initiative.
I wonder if I shall come out the other side with what little mind I
Have still intact.
