An "Exemplary Day" (with a few rough spots)

This has been an exemplary day.
Before I left the house around noon, I sent an email to the company that the crooks at Midwood told me had my security deposit.
They replied that they had never managed Belmont Park, but if they had and then sold it, they STATED that deposits from current residents STAY WITH THE PROPERTY if it is sold.
I sent many replies to the current manager, and when I went to pick up my key copy from the cleaning lady, the manager and one of the employees were going into the apartments above mine. My little section is about half empty now, thanks to them.
I did not speak to her, which was probably a very good thing.

Not so good for the cleaner, she had agreed to $60 for the job, but I went yesterday and looked, the APARTMENT looked and smelled great, but I could still see foot prints, smudges and where the legs of my shower chair had been on the floor of the tub.

Luckily I'd brought my Greased Lightning with me, and did another hit on the tub floor.
I was still going to give her $80, it is the "season of giving" after all.

But when she texted me to say the apartment was done, but that it had been very dirty, could I at least pay her $70?
Well, that is what she got. $70

I was in Lowes prior to all this, on the phone with the previous office manager when another call came in; my door handle for the sliding glass doors was here.
I had to turn around, go back home, take off the old handle again and take it with me back to the shop.
It was an almost identical match, so I paid the remainder of the balance, came BACK here and installed the handle on the sliding doors.

A few days ago, I'd spent some time on the phone and online with xfinity mobile.
I told the lady who was very nice, that I HAD a totally new, unused, still in the cardboard SIM card, but she insisted that no, I needed a new one (this IS a new one I countered) She said that FedEx was very good about their 2 day delivery, so I could be certain the new SIM card would be here TODAY.
I got an email with a tracking number, but when I got home and clicked it, the FedEx site said there was no such shipment.

The reason the FedEx tracking number didn't work, was because FedEx was overloaded and xFinity had shifted part of the load to UPS.
Now they told me my new SIM card should be here by JANUARY 5th or 6th!!!
Then I kinda blew up.
This is UNACCEPTABLE!!! I said!
"I want to get off Spectrum Mobile, I've paid the outstanding bill, both the phone bill and on THE PHONE (device)
Finally got it working though
sighs
I called xfinity mobile again, was told it would be between 90 min and 2 hrs 15 min on hold; did I want to have them call me back during that time?

No!

and very quickly I got another very nice lady.
SHE  had me read off the numbers on this brand new (though about 16 months old) card and then asked me to look up my Spectrum Mobile account, give her all kind of data (which I gave to the lady three days ago.)
THIS lady said that "when I begin the switch, it will disconnect our call...CLICK!!

image.png

So I was left with no more directions or instructions. I made a leap of faith and went ahead and switched the SIM card from the Spectrum card to the xFinity card.
Then I tried to make a call. at first it said "can't make a call while this device is being provisioned (sounded about right) then it was "Welcome to Verizon Wireless, to make a call you must either purchase a credit card or make a collect call to a landline"

OH_MY_GOD!😱!!

image.png

Back to xfinity online, and in chat I got a testy fellow (I think, who can tell? the name was Adly) and we finally (read ME, I finally) got the phone up and running, but then when I tried to reconnect to my home wifi, the PW I remembered setting up, well that PW didn't work.
I KNOW I had it written down somewhere, but I couldn't find it.
Finally, I found a way to make the xfinity website tell me what my PW was, and it WAS the one I remembered, and this time it went through.
So I have my phone on xfinity Mobile, my internet with xFinity, and the battery for the new, high powered leaf blower is charging.
Now, I can sit back and relax for a while.
If only those thieves would give me at least PART of my security deposit back...
One can dream, can't one?
