Yesterday I went way out of my way to get all this Okra.
Today, I decided to sort through them. The larger pods will be stringy and tough even if you stew it.Those on the right will be stewed, those on the left I've just cooked and I'm munching as I write

Here are my ingredients: Okra, flour, egg S&P
IMG_20200725_155333.jpg
I beat the egg using my "immersion blender" the best thing to hit the kitchen since sliced bread

Next, just like "Schwimps" (that is southern for Shrimp) the pods need to be deheaded
IMG_20200725_160202.jpg
I dredged the whole mess through the egg (S&P in the egg) Then
IMG_20200725_160718.jpg
Dropped them in a plastic bag with the flour (S&P there too)
IMG_20200725_160722.jpg
I had started the oil heating, with French fries so I could tell when it was hot enough
IMG_20200725_160850.jpg
I kept stirring them so that they'd not stick together.

As the flour/egg mix began to show color, I decided to remove them
Now that I am eating them (they are delicious!) I could have left them a little longer, they are not very crispy.

And there you have it.
About 20 min start to finish (discounting the time to stop and snap pics)
This ain't nuttin' like those lumps of batter with okra inside you get in restaurants
