September is a national peace consciousness month, our nation has set aside the month of September to commemorate the National Peace Consciousness Month, a tradition made possible through the issuance of Proclamation No. 675.
In connection with this, our school participates by encouraging students, parents, guardians and teachers to join "Trees for Peace Activity" as part of our Peace Month Culmination.
We answer the call and we want to help our planet by planting more trees.
I looked for a seedling to be planted and fortunately my sister in law has one remaining seedling from our Barangay nursery.
Other students planted fruit trees on their backyard, I really wish too but we don't have backyard nor frontyard here in the place where we live. So, I told my son that we will plant a tree near on a creek.
A creek is a water ways in times of rain and it is really ideal to plant a tree there. We decided to plant a tree in the afternoon where the sun is not so hot but it that afternoon the rain pours heavily.
We really decided to plant a tree that afternoon so we still proceed in planting after the rain.
Here is our coffee tree seedling.
It was a cloudy afternoon after the rain when we started to walk going to a creek. My son is so excited and energetic and he brought the seedling and a tool for planting.
The clouds covered the sky that afternoon and the peak of Mt. Matutum cannot be seen.
The sun wanted to greet us good afternoon that time but the clouds covered it so much that a little sunshine is visible just to give us enough light that afternoon.
When we reached the creek I looked for a good spot to plant our coffee seedling.
I choose a spot a little away from other trees and I started to dig a hole enough for planting our seedling.

The hole is ready. The seedling is ready. Let's plant a tree.
I removed the plastic first so the plant can grow directly without any plastic hindrances around.
My son is so excited to plant a tree for the first time. I assisted him to put the seedling on the hole and I let him covered it with soil.
During planting, I told him the importance of trees to our mother earth. It gives us oxygen, a fresh air to breath. It also gives us shades and it becomes a home for birds.
He is so happy and satisfied for what he did. I am also happy that we were able to participate in the school's activity Trees for peace.
We stayed there for a while enjoying the fresh air under the trees before we decided to walk going home.
The sun is going down that time giving us this wonderful view. It's brightness is peeking through the big tree.
We will go home satisfied and happy.
It is always a good feeling to walk, look around, see the beauty of God's creation, feel the freshness of the earth after the rain, feel the cold breeze of the air under the trees, inhale freely a fresh air from the trees and enjoy the beauty of the sun as it sets.
As we walked going home, the rain drops again and glad I brought an umbrella with us.
It was a great walk for me and my son, a short bonding with quality time.
