Entre rocas y mar abierto: Aventura extrema y calma total en la Playa de Juticí /Between rocks and open sea: Extreme adventure and total calm at Juticí Beach
Hello, Worldmappin community! Today I want to take you to a very special corner of the southeastern coast of Cuba, a place that few know and even fewer dare to visit: the enigmatic Juticí Beach. To locate ourselves, this beautiful beach is located east of the city of Santiago de Cuba, past the well-known Siboney area. There are no direct roads that take you to the sand; to get there, you have to walk a good stretch along the coast, but the reward is worth every step.
The big advantage (and the reason why no one else gets there) is the isolation. Being such a secluded spot, the beach is completely desolate, preserving an unaltered natural beauty. Upon arrival, we found a wild environment, far from the hustle and bustle, where the sea and rock formations are the absolute protagonists.
The landscape of Juticí takes your breath away. Walking along the shore allows you to discover incredible geological details, such as this sort of cave or arch sculpted by the constant pounding of the waves against the rock, where the sea enters in a spectacular way. It is a perfect setting to stop and admire the force of nature.
Since the hike is long and the sun beats down hard, we went well prepared with a group of friends. We set up an improvised shelter with a blue tarp supported by the coastal rocks to protect ourselves from the sun and hang out sharing stories, laughs, and the joy of having conquered this remote corner.
The beach is composed of a mixture of clean stones and pebbles, with small pools of water left by the tide. Getting into the crystal-clear and refreshing sea water was the crowning touch to an unforgettable day. Feeling like the owner of an entire beach, without crowds, is a true luxury.
Without a doubt, Juticí is a perfect destination for lovers of adventure and untouched nature in Cuba.
