Get the jab

Don't believe the nonsense, hype or any other quackery, get your shot NOW!

Why should people get vaccinated against the flu?
Influenza is a serious disease that can lead to hospitalization, and even death. The tragedy being that this can be avoided by getting a simple little jab. Every flu season millions of people get the flu, hundreds of thousands of people are hospitalized and far too many people die from flu-related causes. Time to mandate it!

Even healthy people can get very sick from the flu (yes, you) and then spread it to other non vaccinated people. An annual seasonal flu vaccine is the best way to reduce your risk of getting sick with the flu and spreading it around.

How do flu vaccines work?
Flu vaccines cause antibodies to develop in the body, this takes about two weeks after vaccination. These antibodies provide protection against infection with the viruses that are in the vaccine. Not a new idea.

The flu vaccine protects against the influenza viruses that research (done by people probably smarter than you or me) indicates will be most common during the upcoming season.

Who should get vaccinated this season?
Basically everyone should get a flu vaccine every year, unless they happen to have an underlying allergy to a component in the flu vaccine, or if you have had a real reaction previously, not something you imagined.

When should I get vaccinated?
You should get a flu vaccine now, today, five minutes from now, take your pick. If you haven’t gotten one already this season. It’s best to get vaccinated NOW, before the flu begins spreading. This is because it takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body in order to protect against the flu.

Why do I need a flu vaccine every year?
A flu vaccine is needed every year mainly because flu viruses are constantly changing, the formulation of the flu vaccine is reviewed each year and updated to keep up with changing flu viruses.

Vaccine Side Effects (What to Expect)
Can the flu vaccine give me the flu?
NO, NO and NO. A flu vaccine cannot cause flu illness. Flu vaccines that are administered with a needle are currently made in two ways: the vaccine is made either with a) flu vaccine viruses that have been ‘inactivated’ and are therefore not infectious, or b) with no flu vaccine viruses at all (which is the case for recombinant influenza vaccine).

While a flu vaccine cannot give you flu illness, there can be some side effects that may be associated with getting a flu shot. These side effects are very mild and short-lasting, especially when compared to symptoms of bad case of flu. So toughen up and get the dam shot.

If you don't like what I have said, just ignore the post, simple.
