Price isn't everything
I do on occasion hear some Chinese manufacturers/sales representatives suggest that their product is just as good as the competitors and a lot cheaper. Hence the only reason that they aren't selling is because people are "racist" to the Chinese brand. I don't bother trying to talk to them.
Their brand could be just as good, however, it does seem to be a bit of a lottery. A number of companies just don't stand behind their products, which gives ALL Chinese manufacturers a bad name. Personal experience has been split air conditioning systems, large industrial chillers, calculators, watches, phones, IT equipment, tools. Also, not forgetting the current ongoing issue with my solar panels. I can now add one more to the list, brake light globe. I know I have forgotten quite a few other examples.

My personal experience with warranty process, attitudes, and equipment failures is why I will look for brands NOT made in China first, even if they cost more. I have more faith that the non Chinese brand will do what is expected.
