A "dark" sci-fi film
This was released back in 1982, which makes it one of the first to explore a "dark" science fiction style of film. The visuals were also leading edge at the time, especially given that CGI wasn't anywhere near the level it is now.
Blade Runner was directed by Ridley Scott, from Aliens also somewhat of a "dark" movie. This movie stars Harrison Ford, and Rutger Hauerin their very early days. The movie is set in the futuristic Los Angeles of 2019, not that far away now.
The movie focuses on synthetic humans which are called replicants, the replicants are bio-engineered by the powerful Tyrell Corporation to work on off-world colonies and basically used as a cheap "non-human" workforce. A few of the replicants manage to escape back to Earth, now they are fugitives and the search is handed over to the police. In particular a burnt-out cop Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), he reluctantly agrees to hunt them down.
This is something you should see if you like science fiction or the "dark" style that many other films incorporated due to the influence of Blade Runner.
