I'm the sort of person that has a tendency to remember dreams. I wouldn't say I remember my dreams every night, but I usually remember them at least a few times per week. Sometimes every night. Sometimes multiple dreams are remembered every night too. I think it might be because I'm a light sleeper.
Last night, I had a particularly interesting dream. Sometimes in my dreams I am still in my bed. It's as if the dream is happening around me while I'm sleeping in my actual bed. I've never heard of anyone else having a similar experience to this, but it's possible that others do. It's kind of cool.
As I'm laying there, I can hear the sound of a pool outside. Even though I know I'm in my bed, I'm somehow able to walk out the back door of my room. Instead of leading into the garden, it leads onto a patio with a giant pool on it. I know that this pool is at least on the third floor of the building. It's like a giant high rise, and I'm on a floor which could be the third or it could be the thirtieth or possibly even the three hundredth. It's somewhere relatively high. I'm oftentimes high up in my dreams. I can see that the pool has those little plastic buoys flowing in the water. I can also see ropes and the splish-splash of the pool cleaner arms that flip around, smacking the water, causing it to fly everywhere. I see this, and I know this, even though I am also sleeping in the bed.
I can actually feel the water on my face in bed, and I know that I shouldn't be able to feel it. Why can I feel the water? I think to myself....when it is outside? I then feel the water on my feet, and it seems as if the whole room is filling up with water. Something about it is not right... because there shouldn't be any water in the room. How's the water from the pool outside getting into this room? I am not happy about it, and so I tell myself I should get up. Get up! I say... but I'm laying in bed with my eyes closed. Get up! Get up! At that moment I wake up, and I hear the alarm coming from the next room.
If the alarm hadn't gone off, perhaps I wouldn't have remembered the dream at all. You might think it doesn't sound like a very interesting dream... because it's just a pool outside my apartment, but I can tell you it was incredibly relaxing. Maybe it was some place my mind created in order to take stress away. Of course, no one can really say what dreams actually are. Maybe it's somewhere in which I actually did travel. I like to believe in that sort of thing.
Until next time, I hope you enjoyed this story.
