So I've hit another goal, and I promised to explain my mini fixation on the number 255.

Like many things in my life, video games are to blame. In this case it's The Legend of Zelda. The first one. For the NES.

See, in the first Legend of Zelda your rupee pouch could only hold 255 rupees. At first, I thought that by only picking up the blue ones, I could hold more value because there would be less of them overall.

No. That does not work.

So this was a question that just wouldn't leave me alone. By making a pest of myself in a lot of stores, I eventually found out about programming. Which led me to binary.

Thus, I finally found my answer as to why I couldn't hold more than 255 rupees. It was because programmers used stupid math!!!

No joke, I was really mad at them for that.

How does that equate to followers? Well it doesn't. Rather it's an explanation as to why the number 100 isn't significantly large enough to seem like a milestone for me. The game that caused a lifetime fixation had a limit of 255, now that is a big number! Scientific Fact! Legend of Zelda convinced me of this universal truth.
