Here I am bringing up the rear on Market Friday again! I fully intended to write this post yesterday, but I was so tired from my long, crazy work week that my head hit the pillow before I could.

Then I was going to write it today, but I broke my foot on my morning walk. I'll write about that too, but let's just gloss right over that for now and get to the fun of Market Friday!

Market Friday is a community and tag hosted by dswigle@dswigle, one of the best community builders on Hive. You must check it out. You can visit interesting places where commerce happened, food was consumed, or interesting items were purchased, all over the world.

For this post, I thought I'd share another set of pictures from my recent trip to a cute Wisconsin town, which I first wrote about in this post where I described the charming little shops and a particularly lovely, spry, and heartbreaking proprietor.

On that same day, we visited the town's Oktoberfest, which took place on corner lot in the little town that is covered with artificial grass. It was really rather quaint!

There were a whole lot of games going on, with all kinds of prizes. For example, the one in the next few pictures is about seeing who can hold a beer glass up the longest without bending their arm. I would like to say that it was fairly judged, but it simply wasn't. Watch as the contest progressed!

At first, there were lots of contestants!

But the lady in orange decided that she just really wanted to drink her beer, and the guy in red was too shaky.

Ultimately, it was down to just a few people, including my good friend — the one in the middle with the perfectly straight arm, and the guy on the left, and the gal in purple. Well... the gal in purple was clearly bending her arm, but it was my friend who got disqualified for doing so when she bent back to talk to our other friend behind her! Can you believe that?

Okay, I'm being silly. It was all fun and games. (But neither of us thought she deserved to be disqualified!) In the end, I think it was the guy on the left in the cap who won. He stayed straight and steady the whole time!

There was a band playing, and my two gal pals and I danced to some great old covers for a while.

They were selling bratwurst, polish hot dogs, pretzels and such under the food tent. The organizers were smart to have tents! And they were very fortunate that the rain which was pelting down all morning finally stopped in the afternoon. But one of the organizers told me they had to do all the setup in the rain, which can't have been very fun.

I love a small town gathering. You see all kinds of cute things. If I ever have a little dog I'm totally going to get one of these adorable puppy strollers.

We also played corn hole, which was really fun.

They have these wings painted on the side of the building, so I had to get a picture of my husband perfectly poised there.

And then my friend randomly jumped across the picture, which totally cracked me up. I have no idea why one is supposed to watch for rocks on that corner.

After that we decided to go to a local watering hole called Uncle Kent's for some drinks and pool.

IMG_0445.jpg

Just like the steady arm game earlier, as you can see we didn't take the game of pool seriously at all! (Ha ha!)

Well, that is it for my little Wisconsin town adventures! I just have to say that I'm blessed to have good friends I can hang out with, travel with, and laugh with.

Thank you so much for reading!
