From my journey here and hive I have learnt a lot about mentoring.
If I must be honest I did not understand much of this word as I do now because I have practiced and consistently coach people on how they can thrive on hive.
Even tho I have mentored people, I ve never really been as practical and enduring as on Hive. It takes a lot.
Ever since I ve been on hive and I have mentored by my friend and brother 
Many will take it for granted that being on hive is only a matter of time, but I must say you could spend a whole year on this platform and not know what you're doing if you do not have someone to mentor you properly.
On several ocassions, I had to tell newbies that I onboard to act as though they know nothing on this platform because the web 3.0 is not like all the web 2.0 social media platforms where they are easily adaptable and people can easily understand what to do. We have certain key difference one needs to understand, that we follow and the interface is not as easy to understand for newbie yet. Although so much has been done to make it user friendly thanks to 
If you are a newbie on the platform stay close to your mentor, watch how they post and how they comment, read up some of their posts, and apply some skills that they use in their writings, also ask questions when you do not understand some things, infact when you do understand also ask questions to confirm that what you understood is your truth.
Never ever assume even if it looks the same on the web2.0 social media, on the decentralized web space things work differently and so make your own research and affirm that you are doing the right thing.
Learn to observe the tags that are used for posts in different Communities if you are a newbie you must use the introduce yourself tag and and that can only be used once.
For no reason should you copy other people's posts, be it on this social space or on the web, it will be traced and Hivewatcher who act as policemen on this multiverse of Hive will catch you and you will be dealt with severely.
Learn that although hive is a social, financial and multicultural space it also requires your consistency your relationship skills and your creativity to thrive. Money should not be your target but connection with people of different culture and different classes, skills and professional.
Hive is an opportunity for everyone to find themselves in the same room and still coexist.
