Let it be known that week 4 was excruciatingly difficult to choose the first prize winner! Between the newcomers and the multiple entries, Week 4 judges definitely had their work cut our for them. (Week 6 will have 3 prizes!). I will continue to search for further sponsorship in order to up the prize pool enough so that each additional prize will be worth it!

Off the top, the presentation and documentation of this entry Immediately caught my attention. The sandwich looks fluffy and atypical in the first photo and had beautiful presentation. The garnishes also add a very nice artisan touch and the photo is reminiscent of a food magazine feature.
Let's talk ingredients. Senfj..... Had no clue what that was. It appears to be a bagel and a croissant mixed together haha maybe....either way, it looks incredible, perfect shape for a sandwich and it's home made!!!! Then Tandoori mayo, also home made! That combination sounds incredible and I know what both of those ingredients taste like, so I can pretty much imagine the combo to be quite tasty! I'm a big fan of sauces on sandwiches and especially mayo based.
An All Vegetarian Sandwich really added distinction to this entry! While I rarely if ever enjoy a purely vegetable sandwich... I was drooling going through this one. Roasted eggplant and Zucchini, the sautéed onions and then the beautiful organization of fresh veggies interlaced with the roasted ones. MMMmmmmmm. holy shit! I can see this being the freshest tasting sandwich ever!
I also enjoyed the additional info. Although she chose to make this a Veggie-wich, she goes on to show that other ingredients could potentially enhance this gem.
All in all I could see that an immense effort and careful thought went into this amazing entry!

Hello friend - I have reviewed all the entries and I love the 'Ryes And Shine' (Open-Faced Pastrami Breakfast Sandwich) sandwich by @shalala
shalala’s sandwich put a big smile on my face when I saw she included one of my favourite ingredients - sauerkraut. My husband's family is from eastern Europe and they introduced me to sauerkraut. Therefore, I know what goes well with it. Judging from the ingredients used, I could actually taste this sandwich and I know right away it's a good quality and delicious sandwich. To me, she chooses her ingredients very well. Therefore, this is my top choice for this week's sandwich!
My second choice would be jaymorebeet's 'Tuna Grilled Cheese(s) on Homemade Garlic Potato Bread'
Her home-made bread sounds great and her sandwich included so many goodies too!

"The Legend" @steemit-foodie was definitely on my radar again this week for several of her interesting and beautifully put together sandwiches/entries. Did I mention that she made 7 valid entries for Week 4! People! you're slacking! Should anyone break this record "[Challenge 1] I will personally give them an SBD prize.
She always seems to put some unique spin on a classic sandwich, or come up with something completely bonkers to drool over!

SELECTING WINNERS!

@jaybird: I will be selecting the winner based on a variety of parameters. Just do your thing and have fun with it. I'm considering many factors such as presentation, ingredients & originality, creativity, community opinion & artistic ability just to name a few. PLEASE make sure to follow the rules! They are easy to follow and help prevent the tragedy of Null entries!
To start, there will be 2 prizes. First Prize = 70% of the SBD pool collected
Second Prize dubbed the "Veto Vote" = 30% of the SBD pool collected + the honour of selecting the following weeks second prize winner. This prize is ideally given to an entry that although it did not win the contest, showed distinction among all the other entries. This could be a feature such as it was the community favourite, it used the most bazaar ingredients, or, it was just the best looking sandiwch etc. IMPORTANT! The "Veto Vote" holder may not vote on his or her own sandwich to be selected as the second prize. However, they are still eligible to win First Prize should they enter the contest that week.
We hope to grow both the prize pool and the number of prizes awarded as soon as possible!

Week 5's Veto Vote holder is: @Shalala and was selected by @steemit-foodie who was the week 4's Veto Vote holder. Thank you both for your participation!

IMPORTANT! "Veto Vote" holders must always present their final selection to @jaybird in confidence and allow the news to be revealed in an officially "Who Won Steemit Sandwich Contest" blog post. Deviation from this method will result in a forfeit of the Veto Vote and thus, the selection will be consider null and a new winner will be chosen by @jaybird.
Veto Voters can contact @jaybird through discord jaybird#4732 or, an e-mail address will be provided to communicate. If for whatever reasons, the Veto Vote winner does not select an entry in the following weeks contest, I will be the default second prize selector for that week.

Definitely a consideration for first Prize. This Entry was our top payout for Steemit Sandwich Contest Week 4. Thanks to @curie for recognizing some of the great food work that is being produced for this contest! tehshikari's entry and this beautiful slop of a sandwich were action packed with great ingredients and flavours & pictures. This entry did everything right in my opinion and you should go check it out if you haven't yet!

"The Legend" @steemit-foodie always has distinctive creations. This week they were plentiful. Between her Portobello burger and Pumpkin Muffin cookie sandwich or Mozzarella Stuffed french toast, I was left wondered "what could she possibly come up with next?" Probably my favourite of 7 entries from here for Week 4 was a delicious looking french toast PPJ hybrid. She really took this classic breakfast into the unknown. No syrup required!

"The Wizard" @progressivechef Who doesn't like party sandwiches!? This entry is a great little twist on a classic tuna sandwich featuring diced fruits and veggies. Presentation is beautiful on this one (as always). A true artisan at work and that much is clear in the photos!

@electricsheeple our newest participant started off with a great slop of a sandwich all be it a null entry. READ THE RULES PPL!
And then... came back with another beautiful slop of a sandwich that was Valid YEEEAAAAA! I liked this one bc it used turkey as the "bread" and cream cheese/bacon as the filler which, I'll admit is an odd combo lol. It reminded me of the good ol' days when I used to stuff turkey slices with cheese and Diana Sauce. Did I mention the sandwich was a tribute to Prince?

The whole entry is well put together and it features home made potato bread and fresh home grown veggies/herbs! She really shows why she is a Steemit Sandwich Contest prize winner and has been featured as a judge!

@sjennon another newcomer broke into the Sandiwch Scene with a greasy b of a Chicken schnitzel sandiwch. Again, as with most newcomers they don't read the rules lol and tragically get nullified. No worries she will be back, better& stronger! Keep on using two kinds of onions yo. Onions for life lol!

@foodie.warrior returns with another epic entry! With a multitude of homemade ingredients, her Stuffed Pepper Sandwich was a real treat to drool over. Home made Meat loaf, Herby Cream Cheese, Glaze and bread crumbs lol. Presentation is also great on this one!
