It would be so wonderful to be able to stop smiling when we do not want to; to tell the world that today we do not want to go out and that we do not want companionship, that we choose to be alone or, better still, that we prefer our only company. If only it were easy to say it without feeling that knot in the throat and that strange sensation in the stomach. Without feeling guilty, in short.
The best thing would be for the others to accept what we want and come back when the "open" sign is back on our door. Without questions or reproaches. Sometimes we deserve to snuggle up against ourselves, find ourselves, recover our strengths and come out in better shape.
Feeling guilty about being hurt
Feeling bad is more common than we can believe. Everything is not perfect in life. The problem is that society does not allow us to show our ill-being. In fact, showing it involves, in a way, feeling guilty about the judgments and comments of people around us.
If you are sad or at least you are talking about it, you are made to feel like a strange person. Some see you as disabled, others seem to despise you and wake up in those who remain feelings of pain that make them run to your help to motivate you to go out ... It seems that tolerate the malaise of others is not not so easy or normal and you have to hide it, isolate it or, worse yet, ignore it.
It may be because the discomfort of others reminds us that we suffer too. But in the face of a society that punishes its expression, it is not easy to accept it.
We must not hide the malaise or, at least, we must not feel guilty if we feel bad. It's life that wants it. Bad days exist and it does not matter if they are punctual. They do not hurt as much as they look. Their presence indicates only one thing we need: it is therefore important to listen to them.
Forcing ourselves to act differently from what our inner self asks us to do, to pretend what we are not, or to draw a smile when we feel no joy is very difficult. We must therefore allow our well-being to go out and express itself so that it is completely free. If we accept this fact, we will feel much less guilty.
The best refuge: ourselves
On bad days, the best refuge we can find is none other than ourselves. This space of solitude and, at the same time, of accompaniment, where we can relieve ourselves without feeling guilty and holding hands. Because, in a way, we are here for ourselves.
A place that allows us to be more extinct and see what happened with our bulbs. Then repair them and make them shine again. An area in which we can find ourselves after hanging the sign "closed for vacation" or "under construction".
Our refuge is the perfect refuge to listen to the cries of our emotions. Those just waiting for us to stop so we can listen to them quietly. Because advancing with the autopilot is useless: the alarm will be triggered at a given time and the repairs to be made will surely be much more difficult.
We are our refuge, the support that allows us to get up and the embrace that surrounds us. The ideal space to let the discomfort flow with the sole intention of feeling it and understanding it. Because we offer time is also necessary: we must not feel guilty to do it.
May the world continue to revolve ... We will jump again when we have regained the strength to do so, without pressure and without requirements ...
