The nights of the full moon always awoke the spectral tenants of the lake house.
I had seen them dancing in the mist in their flowing robes, laughing and sighing in a mock life.
Tonight, I decided to get closer.
The laughter turned to insane grimaces, the sighs to agonised moans.
Suddenly, translucent arms encircled me, dragging me into that sanctuary of the soul.
Inside, ghosts rushed at me with faces distorted by hatred.
They howled curses as their spectral claws tore at my flesh.
I screamed at the top of my lungs, but no one came to my rescue.
The lake house had become my tomb, condemning me to wander eternally within its walls with the tormented souls who were now my tormentors.
