What I write in this post led me to reflect on those people who live one version with their partner, another with friends, another hidden out there, each with their half-truths and their stories to square. And although it seems that “they are getting away with it”, let me tell you, my dear people, that the real truth is that inside they are paying a very expensive bill that no one sees.
Why?
Because the one who cheats stops living and starts acting 24 hours a day, taking care even of his own carelessness. And what does a person really gain when he or she decides to live in the truth? He o she wins the most valuable thing there is: peace.
She or he gets rid of the constant vigilance, the fright of being discovered, the exhaustion of walking around remembering which version she gave to whom. Now, getting there requires a brave inner work, the kind that starts the day you stop justifying yourself and dare to look yourself in the face. And in that process, precisely, is where we enter into the paradoxes of life, those that say that the more we avoid certain painful things, the more they usually hurt later…
Freedom is not the absence of fear, it is rather acting in spite of it. Because there is always more than one possible narrative, where guilt tells us you made a mistake, that we are the mistake when we feel ashamed. Although it is always good to be self-merciful, that is, to have self-compassion with us because error does not define us.
We human beings make mistakes but we can learn from them, that's what I call the resilient acceptance that characterizes us and what we can learn from it.
Personally, and in many moments I have needed to be alone and in silence. Another few moments, with the company of beings that are in my environment, very close to my heart.
On occasions in stillness, others in long walks. I have written a lot about many things multi historiando, my perspective of life. I have several duels in progress and at the door. Many times I have run out of my quintessential shelters, such as going to the beach, going to the park or working out at the gym. My soul feels disoriented because it does not find where to go to re-calibrate. I hope that you will soon find me, choose where to do it. There is a strange concept of bathing when we are sad, as if pain is dirt and water can take it away.
There are so many canonical, inevitable events, sometimes vital and painful experiences, I'm talking about situations that we all go through, that mark an obligatory turning point in our personal history. During a very complex moment of my life, what helped me the most was to take a bath, knowing that after doing so I would have a little more energy, it's as if it will wipe away the emotional pain. As if the water will take him away little by little, every day, in every shower.
After some time I returned to normal, I can tell you that it helped me a lot. Our mind tells stories. Our power is born when we take action.
My whole life is right in front of me, my mom's smile, she is 87 years old and a multi-life story. At this moment, there is nothing more important than keeping this beautiful smile alive. 💛
