With whom is not up to the conflict.
I have had to keep silent in the face of a provocation, it is one of the most difficult things we can do. Because all your instinct pushes you to respond, to defend yourself, to show the other that he can't mess with you. With the false belief that this is how you return to your center.
Be careful with that, because that's exactly the trap for us, which is to believe that responding with the same intensity is winning, when many times that's where we lose our self-control.
We have to learn to understand that it is we who decide whether or not to enter that game, because things change there. The reaction ceases to govern our emotions, and our ability to choose appears. And yes, of course, yes, we can feel anger, feel upset, feel like answering, but none of that cancels out our true emotional strength.
Sometimes the most powerful act is not to respond, it is not to give the other the control of our peace. The impulse to anger, the contradiction is understood, that's why it's so important to control our emotions, learn to train our tolerance, so as not to overflow, our inner peace is worth much more than any argument. Not falling into the provocation of the aggressors is the clearest sign of emotional strength. Without a doubt, the impulse to respond forcefully is felt on the surface, the truly relevant thing is to sustain our own peace.
Trying not to pick up anyone's emotional garbage is key to living peacefully, it's the best way to regulate our emotions and not to explode as a pressure cooker.
Setting limits from the calm is a challenge, but it is what saves us from getting into the game of the bloodsucker, of the perpetrator who wants to run us over.
In an era, the current one and that of all eras it is so easy to justify ourselves, soften things and look the other way, in fact keeping our word to ourselves is a sign of maturity and deep integrity. The quality and the gift of people of a person is noticeable and a lot in that gap I mean how much there is between what he says, what he believes and what he really does.
It is something like the crocodile that gets careless and sleeps, becomes a wallet. Do you know why I'm saying this? Because being consistent is really uncomfortable, but it's the only thing that allows us to look in the mirror without being ashamed and build a life that if it represents us, it's something like choosing us once again. Our life is nothing but a sea of riddles, in which we sail aboard a fragile boat called "Trial and Error".
