How people treat themselves is, many times, the only thing they can offer to those of us who are outside. There are people who invite conflict because they don't know any other way to relate. Other times, they just forget common sense, pause, humanity.
Where is solidarity, empathy, in a world in which everyone fights for their own, no matter what the other lives, what they suffer, what tears them apart. Understanding this can be liberating, and many times we are not treated for who we are, but for the way others live within themselves. And here an uncomfortable but necessary question appears: Do I have to enter every battle to which I am invited?
Not always, the drainage is silent, because there are people who exhaust us without having done anything (specific) to us. There was no conflict. There was no betrayal. There is nothing concrete that we can point out.
We only know that after being with that person we need to recover, because we are exhausted, they are also called bloodsuckers.
They are relationships where energy flows in only one direction, where reciprocity is conspicuous by its absence, where a constant negative attitude or attitude towards the life of the other is emptying us without us noticing exactly when it started... And when we realize it, we have to run out of there.
These links are difficult to question precisely because they do not have a clear problem. You can't say, "He or she, did this to me." And yet, the feeling of saturation that they produce is real, and if we are feeling this, our body and our mind are giving us information, it is something like an emotional drain. So sometimes, getting this kind of emotional vampire out of the way is an act of emotional intelligence... Because not every conflict deserves our energy. Not every provocation needs a response.
Not every struggle belongs to us.
Withdrawing from certain scenarios is not indifference. It's not weakness. It is to understand that becoming the mirror where others unload their internal wars, rarely builds something good. And interestingly, sometimes, when we stop placing ourselves in front of the mirror of others... that mirror begins to show something that they could not see before.
Let's not force things, or beg so much, just learn to insist to a certain extent... Let's work for something... but let's not be stubborn. Let's let what should flow ... flow... Accept what is and what is not, we must learn to let go…
My mantra for this day is *I choose to enjoy everything from the good to the not so good or pleasant at the end of the day everything is learned. Choosing not to enter is also a form of self-love. Perhaps, loving is also that stop demanding that others repair what belongs to us to embrace within ourselves.
Last but not least... Don't be stubborn, and don't beg so much...Not always, the drain is in silent.
