Ok, so you're new to this Steem thing. You hear about all your friends making money here. Where do you fit in?
You just fit in!! That's the beauty of the Steem community. You just need to be yourself!
Many of your friends on here are just keeping up a blog spot, when people read the blog then your friend gets paid. If someone up-votes their post they get paid even more.
Here on the Steem platform is a community of people who want a social network with **true, accurate, useful, and intelligent **information to read about and share on a frequent basis. Unlike Facebook, Twitter, or any of the other social media platforms, you don't have to weed through the boring one liner updates about why your friend is sad, miserable, angry, or the like. Please don't bring your misery here either!! ;P
Steem is made up of categories called 'Tags'. You write what you want to say, include pictures to give it meaning. Then once you are ready to post you think of what your post is about and tag it. You can have up to five tags per post. This means the post will appear in the five categories. Keep in mind the tags should be all lowercase letters. The tags go here...
The first thing you want to do is to update and save your profile. This will help when someone reads your post. It makes the read better for your audience if they can visualize who is portraying the post. You update this part of your profile to change what it displays.
The next thing to do and is a must. Introduce yourself to the community. By taking a snapshot of yourself with the current days date somehow in the picture. Some Steem folks just write it down on a piece of paper and hold it up for their selfie! The tags on this post should be 'introduceyourself', 'introduction' , 'steem' , 'steemit'. In that order! It is very important to pay attention to the order of your tags! The first tag is always your primary category so to say.

The next thing to do and also is a must! You need to somehow come up with a way to take your picture with the phrase 'Steem Verify Me' and the date as well. This post should have the tag 'verify' , 'steem', 'steemit' , 'introduceyourself' , 'introductions'. This was my verify picture, and it worked!
Hope this helped! Happy posting!
